Maybe the Dakkajet is decent for taking out light vehicles, certainly things like Raiders and Venoms. I reckon its much better for taking out infantry and monsters. Will work brilliantly against Eldar, Nids, Orks, DEldar and Guard. Leave the vehicles to the Lootas, Deff Rollas and Klaws. The fact it can out-range most of those opponents makes it even better.

The two Bombas I need to do a little work with to use properly. Cover is their friend for now, try hopping from behind building to building. They'll be lucky to use their bombs, and almost certainly only once. I do like the idea of unloading all of the Skorcha Missiles in one swift strike - I'll have to try that.

Mostly though, these jets are purely for fun. As all Ork stuff should be!

Is it me or have the new flyer rules made the burna bommer a significantly more interesting choice?

At the time the white dwarf article was published it was considered the poorest choice. But now that we know the 6th makes flyers considerably more durable and infantry hordes a lot more likely, an aircraft packing an arsenal of flaming ignore cover blast templates sounds pretty tempting.

There are a very few things that can hit fliers reliably, most notably other fliers. The Dakka Jet is now your best form of flyer defense.

I'd still say loota blobs as the best AA in the dex. They cope just fine hitting on 5+, so hitting on a 6 isn't such a huge blow to them. Much more annoying on stuff like Long Fangs who pay for BS 4 and can't use it.

With the exception of Burma bombers and razorwings, most enemy flyer will find it much easier to take out your dakka jet than a loota blob before getting dropped.

The dakka jet WILL shoot down flyers and certainly has a place, but it might be more often side armouring stuff like hydras to knock them out so that your bombers have a safe run

So if someone did not get the whitedrawf with the rules or doesn't have an iPad for the digital download how are we supposed to know the rules? What are they? I want to get one and want to make sure I make the right one. Can the model be magnetized for different options?

if you play with dakka jets, you HAVE to play with weird boy with warphead! 1/3 chance a turn to get 18 shots from 1 jet is just a MUST!

Magnetizing is a bit tough if you want all of the options represented. I plan to post a short video when I finish magnetizing my 2 ork jets- but in short it magnetizing can be done, but you will need a lot of magnets-

The Ace pilot upgrade is the one that gives you a bonus BS against Flyer? What else does it give a bonus to?

Shame the IG Vulture is just better, it's like a more accurate constant Waagh! Dakkajet. BS4 (strafing run + BS3) twin-linked punisher cannon S6 Heavy 20, more armour, hover mode and vector dancer. Poor Xenos.

So I was thinking of using the Dakkajet as a low AV vehicle killer and a counter to other flyers. Anyone have any good use of it like that?

That's pretty much it's intended use.

I've run 2 dakkajets since they came out and they have performed well in every game but one. Waaagh! for 18 TL S6 shots, and you get to see actual fire support that hits reliably.

I do like the versatility on the bommers- you can zoom past other flyers (if they are already on the board) or anti aircraft vehicles, drop off your bomb(s) and still take that pot shot at enemy rear armor with your rear facing (or 360 degree) big shoota-

I've been using a pair of dakkajets, which really proved their worth in a 2k tournament at the weekend.

Against Nids, both arrived turn 2 and I used my Waaagh! to annihilate a unit of hive guard each. After that, they were pretty much untouchable, putting good wounds on gaunts and MC's as my battlewagons advanced.

Against SM, they took a toll on a large lysander-led terminator squad; against Dark eldar, they were golden - putting enough wounds on Waaagh turn to ignore FNP meant that even with cover, I was taking out wych squads and ravagers/raiders with ease.

Final game against guard, they helped take down vendettas - however, even on Waaagh turn, you need a lot of luck to be able to take on AV12 targets.

Overall, they are great on your Waaagh! turn - but after that, you do have to stick to wounded, lightly armoured or low AV targets as they are going to underperform against anything more solid.

    My two cents, anyhow!

    Anyone tried the bombers yet?
I can't help but expect a lot from the Burma bomber with the increase in infantry that we should be seeing.
I'm still unsure how well I'd expect the blitza to perform. Is it really worth using against AV 14?

The problem with the burna bomber is that it's loaded with rockets if it wants to perform and no way to fire them all before it crashes and burns a turn after it arrives.

In two games, my Dakka Jet has killed a Night Scyth (dogfight FTW), some immortals, a Unit of Tau Stealth Suits and a Crisis Suit, all for one hull point in damage.
They are worth it. Considering I mostly run Rockit Buggies in my fast attack slot. I think 2 Dakka Jets and 1 unit of 2-3 Rockit Buggies is my FA moving forwards.
