Aéquitas' Snowy Skaven

After having been on the Underempire for about a year I have decided to start a project log here as well to get some more critique.

About a year ago (august 2011) I got introduced to the world of warhammer. Since I was quite tight on cash I decided Skaven would be my best bet to get into the hobby relatively cheap. In the end that really wasn't true since I had to buy tons and tons of clanrats and also got hooked on the conversion part of the hobby. I started my army in pretty standard colours and after about 6 months I decided that there was a bit to much greens and browns going on (well I thought that was the case but I'm really really colourblind so I am not 100% sure). Anyways I was bored with my bases and decided to transfer my Skaven to a really snowy region instead and started redoing my bases.

I am closing in on a finished 2400 point army and will post pictures of my finished or close to finished stuff as we go. Feel free to steal any ideas you see in this diary and ask away if you want to know how I did certain conversions. I got inspired by Slivers army diary when I just started, so you might see some influences of his work here.

I need to make some pictures of the updated snow versions of some units so this first post will be updated today a few times.

Saw your Rats over on the Under-Empire, and I can't remember if I told you how much I love the piper and Giant Rats? Everything is looking amazing, although I spy a few mouldlines

Haha Kimzi is definately the inspiration, but seeing as we both went for a snowtheme I think I kinda had to right? Haha

The mouldlines are part of the fluff it is to show they are friendly to Clan MOULDer

Mwahaha. I miss the occasional mould-line too, so it's no big deal. And yeah, you're both doing some rather cool (ok, I'll get my hat...) Skaven armies.

I really like all the conversion work you've done. I think that Skyre Warlord is especially charismatic... may have to 'borrow' that idea.

The warlord is my favourite conversion next to the BSB. The shield he is holding is actually from the Abomination Kit. Am currently working on 2 Giant Rat darts and finished my poisoned wind mortar yesterdat so hopefully I'll get those pics online today as well.

Got a week off and this sunday there is a tournament for which I stil need to paint about 50 models.... (slaves and clannies)
Hoping to get the clanies finished and Slaves basecoated so they at least look painted. I'm also fielding an abomination but I definately don't have time to paint him up before sunday. That model demands proper time.

Great weapon team! I really like that you painted the hands like gloves. it really gives them a scientist look and feel! And those globes looks great too. Again the warlord is really cool!

Walls and fences box has all these nifty little wooden fences and stone walls, with some dead trees etc.
