Even if I was still actively playing, I wouldn't drop 125± pts to field one. There are just far better choices to include, whether it be Grotzooka-Kans, Lootas, 5 more bikes, or 20 more boyz.

These new flyers take up the FA slots which I often seen not used. So you could play with all that you said and still have room left over to include these.
That has been the thing I like the most. I get to use a slot I almost never get to use

I'm planning on using either a Dakkajet or a Blitza, depending on how the rules for Flyers pan out. Currently they both have weaknesses due to funky rules that make things difficult.
My preferred roles for them will be Valkyrie hunter for the Dakkajet and AV 13/14 hunter for the Blitza. Though those will depend on the way things shake out.

Or did you mean Role? It should be possible to make them with switchable weapon load-outs, the only tricky part might be the cockpit.

I intend to take a single Dakkajet in my 1500-1850 list. I'm planning to reserve that sucker and have it come in to hunt transports. All 3 guns blazing will make it effective against AV 10 and 11. I am on the fence about taking the fighter ace. 9 twinlinked shots is already very good, so I'll use fighta ace as a more optional upgrade, like any 'invisible' upgrade.

I'll most likely end up proxying them for the FW ones in Apoc, at least until 6th ed comes out.
The Dakkajet can pass for a Fighta, the BurnaBomma can pass for a Fighta/Bomma, and the GW Blitza Bomma has an almost match in (surprise, surprise) the IA8 Blitza Bomma. I might slowly work them into my normal games at some point after 6th's release.

3 Dakkajets advantage: In the Waaagh! turn, you get 54 twin-linked BS 3 S6 shots. And they're fast enough to fly in rear armor.
3 Bommas advantage: This is the best anti-vehicle weapon in the Ork arsenal. With an average AP of 14 and a d6 scatter, you will probably hit whatever it is you're aiming for and you will probably penetrate.
A display piece. I don't have an Ork army but that thing looks so nifty.
And running round the room carrying it making whoosh and dakka noises...
