    My New Vampire counts

Well after having the Mantic models sit in a box for a year, I decided the reason I haven't painted them is simply I don't like half the models (bar the zombies), so go through my bitz and popping into GW and crying about how much my new core units cost me I am finally restarting my Vampire counts army.

    Enslaved Skin Wolf

    Varghulf
    Total 175pts

    Terrorgheist
    Total 225pts

So here is what I have done so far.

    Vampire Lord

I do love this vampire, as soon as it came out I bought it, I was lucky enough to have a bloodletter Herald laying about from the FW daemon I bought, I thought it made her a little bit different from the usual vampire you see

    WIP Vampire

When I bought the avatars of war vampire countess I was never happy with the head, originally I was just going to change the head but I decided I would be a little bit daring, my greenstuff skills are far from amazing but overall I am happy with how she turned out.

    Very WIP Zombies

These are far from a important thing for me to be working on at the moment, I was more curious how well the Mantic and GW kits would blend as I hate the current zombies and have plenty of Mantic ones laying about, bit of greenstuff and they should look pretty cool, I will have to make 100 of these at some point

    Grave Guard

I originally bought these to make knights panther on foot but the army never happened, I wanted something a bit different for my graveguard, still need to buy another 10 on ebay, failing that I will just convert some of Rico's pikemen and white wolf them up a bit.

    Old Varghulf

Love this model but I am trying to make the list throne of skulls legal, so he is going to be replaced by the forgeworld open day skin wolf as soon as he arrives in the post!

At the moment I am trying to get my hands on some ghoul arms and legs so I can convert my Ghouls, mine are going to be a kitbash of Flagellants and ghouls, I hate the current models with a passion.

A unit of those grave guard white wolfs will look really good. Also like the vampire lady carrying the corpse, it really worked out well.

Those first pictures bode well for the future of your army.
I like very much the converted zombies, and the grave guard conversion is just pure win and very original (you rarely see conversions of that unit)

    Re: My New Vampire counts

Thanks! with the graveguard I just have the fun of trying to get my hands on another 10 now, arg I do have a backup plan of getting some of Rico's pikemen if I need to, hopefully I can get some more teutogen guard next month for a reasonable price

Anyways minor update, started painting my Skeleton warriors (well the champion anyways)

    Varghulf also arrived today!

WOAH! Is that what the old Vargulf looks like? I actually prefer that over the new one!

cool conversions, the vampire lord looks awesome with the fw human corpse, nice contrast of the regal look of the isabella sculpt with the torn mutilated corpse.

Looking good. The world can never have too much corpses shambling about.

The vampire does a good job of representing both the elegance and brutality that define the warhammer world vampires.

Your teotegen grave-guard has potential. It's fitting models for them as grave-guard is usually described as ancient northern noblemen brought to undeath. Only thing is, I think the paintjob on the fur looks a bit smeared and thick at the moment. Nothing that a bit of ink and a drybrush or two wont take care of though.

    Re: My New Vampire counts

@ Kronos - thats actually ultramarines blue, I blended it with white and added a blue wash, actually makes it a nice blue but thankyou

@ Zywus - thanks, well the with the fur its not actually finished, I really need to figure out a decent way of doing white/cream fur

@ imm0rtal reaper - Funny you should say that

Well started the skinwolf/Varghulf the other night, sadly women and drink got in the way of doing anymore last night

Looking very cool, loving that skinwolf/varghulf guy. Also the painted grave guard looks like he is wielding Shadowmourne from Warcraft. Wicked stuff

The skinwolf is looking good although it seems slightly off balance.
