I foudn this and thought it was fun...

I love following cryptozoology, but put no faith in it. It's just fun to read about. Therefore, this struck just the right nerve for me.

    What do you think....

I don't know what I'm looking at in that video but I'm reasonably sure it isn't a mammoth. I'm still sort-of-hopeful they might be able to resurrect some Mammoths from preserved DNA using elephants as surrogate mothers. I think that's my best chance of seeing an actual mammoth.

    Bear carrying a fish.

That or it was a bigfoot, most likely it was a bigfoot.

It just looks like a fake to me...

The way it meets the water and the the intentional lack of focus...

it just seems off to me.

    Re: Wooly Mammoth Sighting

Even though it does look like a bear with a fish, I'm throwing my vote behind the hoax theory. Something about the movement of the "animal" doesn't feel right. It seems too even and consistent for too long a period of time - especially for an animal wading belly-deep through rushing waters. Plus we don't see it entering or leaving the river bank. Something about it just doesn't look natural. Even the "shaky" movement of the camera appears artificial (reminds me of the old screensaver with the word or object that bounces around the screen).

Besides which, the thing is apparently wading slowly across a wide river (with the film starting soon after it begins it's crossing) - there seems to be ample time and opportunity to get a better shot of the thing.

    Re: Wooly Mammoth Sighting

Wasn't this debunked some time back, when it was shown somewhere that the original footage was taken as part of some river survey or something? I recall something along those lines some months back (last year?) and essentially special effects had been used to insert the creature. I could perhaps be confusing it with some other river/exotic beast video but that seems a stretch. I seem to recall that the footage was being touted by some big crypto spruiker but the footage has some effects company logo on it or something - too hazy in my mind (like the footage). And surely something that amazing would be filmed for more than about 10seconds.

That's a bear carrying a fish. You can see that the "trunk" isn't part of the animal, it flops about and is a different colour to the rest of the "mammoth"

    LMAO, great hoax.

The Siberian mammoth footage absolutely sold me untill it cut off. As others have said, who films 10 seconds of an encounter like this? The "Bear w/ fish" theory doesn't sound plausible to me as the bear and the fish would be huge! which only leads me to believe its been CG'd in. Shame

It's highly unlikely to be true (after all, what are the chances of nobody seeing them for 3,500 years?), but it would be good if it was.

Just watched this with my better half and that was my initial thought too. It's way too fuzzy to be sure exactly what it is, my bet is that it isn't a mammoth though.

'Oh look, a wooley mammoth. This could be the greatest scientific discovery in decades. I could become a massive celebrity over night if I capture it on video to prove what I'm seeing. And finally get myself a ticket out of Siberia.
... Or I could stay back here and get some grainy-as-hell footage on my camera phone. Either way.'

Looks like a bear carrying a fish. My son reckons they have stuck brown wool strands on an elephant.

Going off how clear the image is, I'de say it was a CGI rendering and he's lying about the date it was taken.
