    150 point HQ Battles

    40K Army: Other
    Hello all!

    SOme people I know are doing a little tournament with one HQ choice that is no more than 150 pts and cannot be a 'unique' named characters. Space wolves or daemonic heralds can only take one model (not the two they are normally allowed!).

    I wondered what stuff you guys could come up with. I got:

    Chaos Lord, Mark of Khorne, Daemon Weapon for 140 points!

    Hi,
    I don't have my codex with me but I believe a Necron Overlord with warscythe, MSS and phase shifter should be around 150pts and could give some serious headache to other HQ!

    Will look twice at the points, but should be able to go with...

    How far away do we start, and how large is the table? I feel these are very important factors for determining your strategy. If you start 20+ inches apart, you will have a tough time beating a tau kiting I think, so things like jet packs and bikes become just as important as melee killing capacity.

    I'd definetly be tempted to go with a space marine chapter master, just to try to kill them with an orbital strike :P

    if it is HQ choice I'd look at a necron lord (royal court) with warscythe, MSS, Phase Shifter, Res orb. if the entry that to take a court you must have the overlord types then thats kinda sunk. An overlord with a scythe and phase shifter is 145, so cant get the MSS with it unfortunatly.

    For Tyranids: A completely kitted out tyranidprime,including all biomorphs such as toxinsacs adrenagland and regeneration, LW/BS and scything talons. thats 130 pts. I think.
    Not that Nidz would have much choice :P.

    Bringing in FW, there are various command Russes that can come in at 150pts....
    Occasionally accused of being helpful and constructive.

    150 is a bit limiting for my Tzeentch Sorcerer. It's probably just going to go to the GK Grand Master with all the right fix'ns.

    Lot of people coming up with totals of 140 or 145. Surely there are some silly little 5 point upgrades you can fill those gaps with? better spent then not

    1x each Court of the Archon + Venom (2x Splinter Cannons, Night Shields) = 150 points
    1x each Court of the Archon + Raider (Flickerfield, Shock Prow) = 150 points

    Court requires you to take one of each model (Lhamaean, Medusae, Sslyth and Ur-Ghul) to be legal. Granted it also requires an Archon in order to be taken (similar restrictions on the Royal Court requiring another HQ choice first).

    I would probably use a Blood Angels Librarian with Unleash rage or Might of heroes, and Sword of Sanguine. Then I would take Epistolary, so he can use both in one turn. 150 points right there with some serious killing power.
