Precinct Omega's Tomorrow's War (starting with Defiance UAMC)

The first fireteam for my American colonial marines is done to a basic standard. I plan to go back and lift the quality as I complete further fire teams, but want to get the whole platoon done to a decent level first:

Could you give us some close in shots of the minis?

The painting and colour scheme is fine (though when you updetail the minis you may wish to look at creating a version of MARPAT if you're going for future realism) but I can't tell much about the minis. They just look a little off. I don't think it's your painting, but there's something I can't put my finger on.

I did however see the rip off Starship troopers Bugs that Defiance are doing, and they look ok (and could be used for 28mm or 15mm if you want giant bugs towering over your dudes).

Are you planning on adding any vehicles? Are there compatible characters? I've got a spare Heroes of the mobile infantry set from Mongoose, but I don't know if they're a compatible scale.

@Ben - I don't think I'll be doing MARPAT as it's a bit time-consuming, but I might square off the camo pattern to replicate its look. If you'd like better shots of the minis - and a complete review of the product - check out this thread:

As for vehicles, I already have a Secret Weapon six-wheeler and another vehicle, whose manufacturer I can't immediately recall. I posted a review of the 6-wheeler here: http://www.warseer.com/forums/showth...ssault-Vehicle but I believe Secret Weapon has recently improved the design of this kit (although it looks identical when assembled).

I've re-visited my Defiance Games UAMC, as I wasn't happy with the choc chip camo pattern. I wanted something I could do more quickly that would still look good. I also decided I wanted a colour scheme I could replicate across the wide range of 28mm generic near future SF minis I seem to be acquiring.

So here are the re-painted UAMC (five down, twenty-five to go...):

Meanwhile, here are some Troopers and Gangers from em4:

They aren't pretty and they aren't very good-looking. But both sets are £2.55 for five! I could put a hundred troopers on the table for £51.00. And for that sort of value, I'm prepared to overlook quality that isn't 100%.
