    Storm of chaos Prophecy

On p.14 of the campaign book is a prophecy regarding SOC. The first half deals with Archeon, just wondered did we ever find out the meaning of the rest? Either thru Gav Thorpe himself or people just figured it out. Or was it just totally random words written to confound us.

    The 2nd half:

With the coming of doom will march a lowly boy.
Anger shall be his nourishment and blood his wine.
And from the land tamed will rise a champion.
Disease will be his downfall and savior divine.
A king's son shall be the chosen. In power will he thrive and glory in his name.
And with the coming of the end of times, the old will fall by the hand of the new.
Assuming the lowly boy is Valten, though I could be mistaken. The rest I have no idea...

It refers to each of the four god specific champions in the following order: Khorne, Nurgle, Slaanesh and the two Tzeentch champions

It indeed refers to the five champions who Archaon rounded up in his preparations for invasion.

    Well, four....

I don't recall what the story of the Khornate champion was, if it was anything above your cookie cutter "Blood for the blood god! Raagh!" berserker, but...
And from the land tamed will rise a champion.
Disease will be his downfall and savior divine.
...was an empire farmer who lost his family to being driven out of the village for being a bit wierd and suspected of causing a plague, in winter, seeing htem getting sick and dying. Himself infected he found that it just made him stronger, and he killed the witch hunters coming after him, eventually joining up with Crow tribe marauder and becoming a warlord.

A king's son shall be the chosen. In power will he thrive and glory in his name.
... was a prettyboy norse son of a chieftain, from birth accompanied by a daemon invisible friend, and after he rose up to kill and take control from the his daddy the king of the tribe, he was fused with this daemon creating a semi-daemon prince entity. Which felt a bit strange, as they then used more or less the same plot device with the Primarch Fulgrim in 40K, but I guess it could be seen as something Slaanesh enjoys doing, in any universe...

And with the coming of the end of times, the old will fall by the hand of the new.
Had a twist in it; A young marauder tribe couple had a mutant son with obvious gifts, the mother dying at birth and the father getting tricked by the tribes resident shaman-sorcerer to hand over the baby to him, while being sent out on a quest into the wastes. The shaman expected the father to die on the quest, so that he could raise the potentially powerful mutant baby as his own, but Tzeentch had a plan for the guy, and he ended up gathering a host of deamons and lead them back to his homeland. Finding out that many years had past back in the real world while he was in the realm of chaos, he found his son a young man now, apprentice to the shaman. There was a battle between the tribes armies and the daemons, and in the end we found out the while the characters had assumed that the prophesy of old falling by the had of the new was regarding the northerners going south to destroy the Empire, it was really about the Shaman having the dad at his mercy, but then getting shanked in the back by the mutant boy, and father and son afterwards assumeing leadership of the tribe together.

Every story ended up with the characther in question meeting Archaon (or his herald Crom might have been one case, don't recall) and joining up for the Storm of Chaos.

Given that this happened in the years leading up to the storm, it will still "have happened", even with the winding back of the clock to just before it starts.

The four warlords were never special characters with rules and unique models, they were just represented by the four chaos warlord models on foot released for the 6th ed Chaos book, possibly a deliberate nod to back in the old days where every chaos champion model in the range had a personal name in the catalogues.

He was an orphan that who was only allowed to herd shepe while the clansmen raided, one day he killed a beastmen who had killed his sheep an found a magic axe. each time he kileld with the axe it and he changed to become evne more fearsome. he boutchered the old chieftain and made himself chieftain and then ruled in the name of khorne. Not a great story but hey better than the slaanesh one. The Nurgle one is better than this and the tzeentch one is the best.

Cheers for the explanation guys. I think I read some stuff about the 4 champions before, but obviously I had forgotten the details about them.
