Impure Perfection - Graxy's Dark Elf Plog
All else is bellow us, no mortal nor immortal can come within a league of our brilliance..... Your prayerrs to your gods for mercy will go unanswered, as we are above them. You may beg at our feet for survival, but your appeal will reward you with a more brutal death.... We are the unquestioned masters of all earth sea and sky answering to no-one.
Well, as the title implies, a dark elf plog (like they aren't done enough already). The idea of the army (like most delf armies) is self proclaimed perfection, but in this case taken to the extreme.
Will try to get as much fluff in as I can handle, because fluff's cool. No fluff in this first post or the next for now but I'll rectify that later.
I want to keep the whole army to the same size (as in height, size of limbs ect.), so do not expect to see very many actual dark elf models and get ready to see a lot of deldar bits.
Her Holiness, the High Sorcerress of the 6th tower, Entraphia

Still WIP, mainly just the green stuff on the arm and back of the base, but so far have had pretty good feedback for her.
Test scheme crossbowman:

Kabalite warrior body because I like it and need to keep it size proportional, and handbow because Iprefer it over the crossbows. I like the scheme (even thouugh the test model isn't finished) so far.
Corsair test champion:

Still only a test model, but I really wanted to go for a more sinister/angry look on him than anything else.
My uploader decided it haes me and everything I stand for, so I'll upload a couple of test pics of the corsairs later.
Stay tuned for more stuff and things.

Really loving the conversion, especially the Sorceress, such a simple conversion it's great.
I think the Dark Eldar helmet look abit too sci-fi for my liking but I can't make judgment until I see them finished.
Great start though

Love the use of the dark eldar models, they really are some of the best stuff gw has put out in recent years, be curious to see what else you have planned!

@Drakcore Thanks man, I appreciate the feedback
I can actually see what you were saying about the helmets now actually. The question is, what heads to use? I tried to throw together a quick test model using one of the High elf noble heads but I think it looks a bit off simply because the hair is too big :/

Like I said, very quick job and really rushed, but I'm not too certain that the head fits the model. I'll keep searching then.
@constant Thanks man, and I'd have to agree with you on that, the dark eldar range is amazing! speaking of which, a WIP sorceress:

Still VERY much WIP, really can't find an arm that I'd like to use for the left one. If I can't find one, i might have to completely re-position the staff arm, which I really don't want to do due to bad expierienes with re-moulding elbows (finescast konrad von carstein came missing his entire CHAINMAIL elbow. That was not a fun night), but you've got to do what you've got to do. Need to remove the spike from the shoulder pad and maybe even the entire shoulder pad. The greeen stuff on the back is to cover up a whole for one off the dark eldar trophy racks, unfortunately hair is a b**** to craft.
Should have said this before, but I'm saying it now: This project is going to be a long one, I'm only a teenager so money is a huge issue, especially with other things I have to spend money on, and time has to be put into education. The summer holiday's coming up soon so I'll probably getmore done then, but right now, This is going to be pretty slow moving.

Damn you sure do know how to make awesome looking wizards
I'm guessing you don't like the DE spearmen heads? If not try the corsair or knight helmets (if you can find them) I feel they are much slimmer and better than the old 5th ed (?) spearmen heads.
I too am a student but I'm starting TK, everything is going to be converted in some way because I don't like the models and Amazon, Ebay, discount retailers, etc are a god send due to my miraculous ability of losing money

Re: Impure Perfection - Graxy's Dark Elf Plog
Being completely honest, I actually hadn't considered the spearmen heads :P Looking at one right now though, it doesn't seem like it's the same proportions as the rest of the heads in the army (I'm trying to keep everything the same size) I'll give the corsair heads a try since I picked up a box today and we'll see how that goes
speaking of corsairs....
WIP Corsair standard:

Origionally thought that the glaive would make ranking up hard, but actually it's not too bad. Had to remove the chainmail on the banner arm, which required some green stuff, but it wasn't too bad. This was for fluff reasons, which at this rate, will be up in the year 2019. Probably won't be using many of the actual corsair arms on the corsairs, but if I do i'll have to remove the chainmail on them too, but that won't be too bad. Also, EVERYYTHING IS MAGNETISED!

Re: Impure Perfection - Graxy's Dark Elf Plog
I said that it'd be a while before the next update, I didn't expect it to be this long, but hey, what can you do?
Haven't been able to do much because of schoolwork, so I've only been able to get the next 2 corsairs made up but here they are anyway:

This is, what I hope to be, the least creative member of the unit. Literally no modifications to im other than green stuffing over the chainmail. Pretty boring stuff.

To contrast, this is the model that I've put the most amount of effort into so far. Didn't like the eye patch on the helmet so had to take that off and try to re-sculpt his eye, to some success. First had 2 different arms on him, but wanted to remould them in different positions. If you hadn't guessed, that went to hell pretty quickly so now he's got these arms. Had to cut down the kabalite arm a little bit to get it in position properly and only took away the chainmal from the otherand replaced that with a bit more cloth. All in all, a lot of effort for very little change in outcome. SUCCESS!

Re: Impure Perfection - Graxy's Dark Elf Plog
Reasonably insignificant update here: Haven't finished making the corsairs becaue of other things going on right now. Have started to paint up the champion and standard though. And by that I mean I've painted their bases:

If you couldn't tell, I'm going for a coastline basing scheme of the unit. It makes more sense as to how I'll do it when you look at the movement tray:

The flat magnets are where the corsairs who will be walking along the sea will be. The striped magnets are a fair bit higher, so the ones on the border of the striped ones will have a little bit of water and mostly sand, while on the border of the flat magnet (like the champion) will have a little bit of water going over the edge of their bases to build up to the higher ground. The rest of the corsairs on the striped magnets will be on raised bases but only on sand.

In all honesty, a fairly half assed attempt at what I just described. Hopefully I can rectify that in the future, ut for now, this is what I've got. The main problem that is easily identifiable is the colouring change in the water. Definately a priority, but It'll be sorted out eventually.
Plan to try and get some tentacles coming out of the water as a unit filler, so if anyone could link me to a website where I could reliably (thus no ebay) get some of the old watcher in the water tentacles, it would be very appreciated
The progress so far, is immense.
