Thread: Forgeworld Newsletter #307 :Mark IV command set, minotaur etched brass

So is Warhammer Forge not a going concern then? The only non-40K release in months now was the tennis ball on legs.

Much as I love Heresy era Marine stuff, there's such a thing as too much of a good thing.

Well, there have been off and on rumours of more monsters from Monstrous Arcana as well as Bull Centaurs to be released this year. Who knows, though...

I can see FW releasing a champion with a "filler" marine in MKIV in the near future. Probably an extensively kitted out champion and a marine with a choice of two special weapons. Or they release a generic champion (in a set of one or two). Still, I do like the Captain in this release, so I will definately be getting him

That standard bearer is suffering from a serious case of pennant envy!

That's another £25 added to my list. Just need to think of how to fit them in my Blood Angels now. All the previous have been simple enough. Maybe replace my sternguard sergeant.
Or maybe just start another, but all FW marine army... Hmmmmm.
    Damn you FW!

    More Marines...

I had hoped for WF stuff, after two weeks of nothing from them. I guess I have to stay patient.

I wonder if next we will get a Mk V Banner guy and captain.

I am thinking that FW/WF is laying rather low right now so as to not divert attention from the new fliers and upcoming 6th. I mean FW has the Land Raider Spartan and the IN Avenger so far which need to be released. Both are rather big attention getting models though.

I really like these models... but... am I the only one to think that the shields on the shoulder pads REALLY suck? They should have been plain... this eagle head thingy just looks terrible.

I'm just wishing the cloaks went across the whole back rather then seeming like half a cloak, and that they were cheaper and I could get the standard bearer separably as if I did a pre heresy captain I would want to convert him myself.
Anyone else thinking GW may be making FW price these guys to try and make the failcast stuff look better?

I think they might be separate pieces; check out the second picture on the brass etch page–the shoulder shields seem to be easy enough to replace without apparently damaging the model.

Forgeworld really needs to start doing head sets/upgrade packs. Just bareheads. Especially for Chaos.

    Those are two great minis
