    New book on the horizon

So this was posted by Harry (across a couple of posts) in the 40K News and Rumours forum...

Sum total of rumor: "Several exciting things coming from FW before the end of the year." Which matches Harry's vagueness... Also no more than could have been guessed anyway...

I can be more specific ....
There are three Heresy books coming .... the first one later this year.
...and yes you are quite right there are some big and exciting things coming with them.

There is another AI book coming before this lot however.

Sounds like these new flyers have stirred up some more enthusiasm at Forgeworld. Storm Ravens and Storm talons as fighters for the marines, the Dark Eldar and Necrons would be the obvious choices but hopefully it'll get the creative juices flowing and we'll have a full range of transports/bombers/fighters for all the races (though other than the Ork Landa being missing, and the aforementioned marine fighters, it's just a chaos transport we're missing isn't it?).

Or maybe not...I'll put any updates here

I need to add ... Another guy I trust has contacted me to say he thinks I am wrong about the AI book.

So it is possible that may not be happening. Time will tell.

Apologies if I have got anyone excited over nothing.

If I can find out more either way I will post to clear this up.

There is so much opportunity with all the new aircraft GW has been coming out with lately!

    Thanks for this!

exciting prospect! i'd love to see a third ai book- i know it's not really a supporting piece of evidence or anything, but when i recently ordered a bunch of ai stuff, it was all in stock and didn't need casting up or anything... unlike the non-ai stuff in my order. could that be a sign that they're expecting a boost in interest, or could it just be wishful thinking?
anyway, i for one would buy a new book if they came out with one.

AI was a very cool concept, shame some of the local guys stopped playing regularly by the time I picked up my order of Lightnings and Thunderbolts I'd definitely be up for another update with new planes.

So to clarify, this would be another AI book to add new units/rules to the game? Not some kind of 40k scale Aeronautica shenanigans or another revamp of 40k flyer rules? I'd prefer the former, as planes are awkward in 28mm. Saw another fighter get punched to death this weekend and it still baffles me how that's even possible.

Re: New book on the horizon

With the White Dwarf mention of the IA: Aeronautica for 40K we can pretty much confirm that there is NO new AI book coming out.

Hmmm, looks like it... sort of hoped they were going to show that the game was still alive.

Re: New book on the horizon

Please please make it happen! They'd have so much new possibilities now with all those 40k Planes out!

Well it would be about time GW kicks out that Lotr stuff and takes specialist back into the program. The Hobbit will not save Lotr from dying that's pretty clear! In that case FW would also take more care of the specialist stuff again.

Idk if that means something that they bring out IA: Aeronautica. They still have all the stuff for AI on stock and that means the game is not completely discontinued by FW
