As much as I would like this to be true, I will leave this on my very skeptical list until others can add to/reinforce this.
Out of curiosity and being courteous, does your source have direct ties with GW that you know of?

I could see a wave release/finecast transfer, a new treeman has been rumoured by reputable sorts for a long time. I think a book would be further away. Cheers for the info.
Wish it were true. My woodies could use some attention. Sadly, I don't see it happening, internet buzz says WOC and DWARFS are next in line

There has been a tree-man release rumor in the forums here and what you are providing here pushes that rumor a little bit more towards a possible reality (I think some rumor had it that the new treeman was completed it was just a matter of when to release? - don't know if I have that completely right). Maybe GW will release new treekin as well, in response to raging heroes awesome release of tree warriors. And then again maybe I can punch out the moon. Yeah, I have to say that I too am a skeptic about a WE armybook release (in 2013 even! it's all dwarfs, dark elves and maybe even high elves, but no woodies!!!), but I secretly hope it's a pleasant surprise and that it's more than any of us are expecting. As they say, BRING IT ON!

Most semireliable sources put Warriors, Dwarfs and Dork Elves as the next few fantasy releases, and while the Wood Elves COULD jump up in priority, march 2013 is still pushing it - a lot.
Still, miracles do happen....
Could be heard a romour that they want all the "old" army books redone by the end of 2013. dwarfs wood elfs and bretonia. but I don't we will see.

Well, with WoC this autumn, Dwarves might be done in January, so March/April for Wood Elves is possible. I have no information supporting it, and I am very sceptical, but it is also far from impossible.
I'm surprised that there were no Wood Elves bundled in with the Dark Elf, Lizard Men & Tomb Kings fine cast releases. You would have thought that the likes of War Dancers, Eternal Guard and Way Watchers were prime candidates, as the Executioners, Black Guard and Shades were for the DE.
Don't know if that really means anything though. Probably just saving it for another wave of Finecast that are likely on the horizon.
No reason why March couldn't be for 'teaser' releases a few months ahead of the new book, a-la Terrorgheist etc...
That statement does sound like GW though.
My sentiments exactly, with the plastic Treeman Hastings has often referred to in the Terror-gheist slot. That would mean Woodies getting a full re-release mid-to-late 2013, which seems highly likely.
Skaw's initial optimisim about Wood Elves being re-released in mid 2013 is slipping... Early 2014 ftw!

Has anybody noticed the two kinda unicorn present in the SoM book: royal unicorn (classic) and the cheaper sylvan unicorn?
This may be a hint toward a new unit (unicorn riders)... maybe for woodies, maybe for bret... or a new book (with great stag having impact hits)
Why not a unit of great stags "a la" demi-griffon riders (or even unicorn/stag convertible plastic unit)?
What do you guys think?

For your information, there have been since some serious hints from hastings and harry that High elves might be first before their dark cousins.
To be more precise, there was some sort of "pointy ears, but not those that everyone expected" comments from Harry, combined with Hasting joking about a high elven flying chariot.
Somone even posted a revised timeline of "Empire, WoC, Dwarves, High elves", and Harry answered by saying that he was wrong ... about the order.
So for me the most probable order according to the current rumour is:
- WoC
- HE
- Dwarves
However they have been some rumours about Dark Elves not being far too, so maybe GW is trying to make 2013 the year of the elves with an update for all pointy armies ? But this is pure theory, and rumours too far away even from the best of sources tend to be unreliable, because GW themselves can sometimes change they timelines.
This is the way I read those posts too. Didn't think Dwarfs were anywhere near Q1 2013. Also with Hastings talking about Carnosaur cav could Lizzies sneak in somewhere?
EDIT: what I'm meaning to say is, Woodies in Q1 2013 is looking more unlikely in my opinion.

AFAIK wood elves are (AT LEAST) 3 books/5 biggish fantasy releases away (really thought dwarves would be this year so expect to see them next, woc this year, high elves next year etc). But getting finecasted in march, maybe with a new treeman is possible, unlikely but possible.
Some time ago I heard a rumor that Wood Elf and Bretonnia will be in the same Army Book!any thoughts on that? Maybe some of you guys heard the same rumor?
I saw it bandied around on here, but the consensus seemed to be it was based on 100% opinion and 0% fact.
You MIGHT see a 'Tamurkhan-esque' book from Forgeworld which includes additions/alternates for Woodies and Brets (and presumably a common foe), but the Wood Elves and Bretonnian army books will definitely be updated under their own power in 8th ed.
