What in particular do you want help with, do you just want some advice on the list?
If that's what you want then here goes:
The Gorgon is a really bad warjack, I wouldn't ever include it in any list.
Likewise with Nayl, he's incredibly bad and is a real risk for your own army.
The battle mages are a so-so unit, but there's not much point in bringing them with Garryth.

What he wants in a list is an arc node (which you have in the Chimera), a couple of pieces that can help move him around (Madelyn Corbeau, Battle mage magister) and a good hard-hitting unit to take advantage of Death sentence.
I would recommend something like this:
    Garryth -5
    Chimera 6
    10 Dawnguard sentinels 9
    > Sentinel UA 2
    House Shyeel magister 2
    Arcanist

If you really want another 2 pts solo in there you can take Halberdiers with UA instead of Sentinels, but you'll lose some jack-killing potential.
Retribution isn't the easiest faction to play, and Garryth is definitely not their easiest warcaster to come to grips with. If you've looked at the other warcasters and found some of them interesting I'd recommend starting with them instead to be honest, since playing Garryth requires that you really know how the game works and how to open up caster kill possibilities.

I love Vyros as well, I think he's easier to learn, but he's generally seen as Retribution's weakest warcaster. That said, he can deliver powerful melee himself, and he has very good defensive stats and can "camp" his Focus to get very high armour.
If I had to recommend a specific warcaster to start with, it would probably be Ravyn or Kaelyssa. They're both strong warcasters with some cool tricks. Ravyn is a bit more one-trick since most of what she does is focused on shooting, whereas Kaelyssa is more all-round.

Good stuff to start off with include:
Warjacks: Griffon, Chimera, Aspis, Manticore, Phoenix, Banshee, Sphinx
Units: Sentinels, Invictors, Mage hunter strike force, Halberdiers
Solos: Arcanist, Mage hunter assassin, Ghost sniper, Destor thane

These are in no way the only good selections in the book, but they're some of the defining things of the Retribution, and more importantly they will all be used in a multitude of lists, so buying any of the above will get you something that will see a lot of use.
The Scyir is a bit weird, he has a really good warjack drive, and his flank ability is awesome, but he'll never be able to use both to good effect in the same turn due to the timing of the abilities, so he's somewhat bad due to that.
If you're taking him, have him control something cheap like a Griffon, you want your big warjacks to be controlled by your warcaster.

If I were to recommend a starting list for Vyros it would probably be something like this:
    Vyros -6
Manticore 8 (great in combat, good gun, nice board control with Covering fire)
    10 Sentinels 9
    >Sentinel UA 2
2 point solo of your choice (Mage hunter assassin, Ghost sniper or Battle magister)
