Help me make a Futurama style ork head in a jar

I've got this nutty idea for a cybork bodied warboss whose only organic part is his head (in a jar, futurama style. I'm gonna name him Shnixun I think.).

Anyone got any ideas of how to pull off something like that? I'd use the metal warboss head with some bionik gubbinz around the neck. I'd need a clear plastic tube of some sort for the jar, and some sorta water effect to fill it up with, but both of those things need to be clear enough that you can still see the boss's head in there. Any suggestions?

Almost anything could be the source for the jar, e.g. Lego make a small clear dome of around the right size. Definitely check out your local dollar/pound/discount store, looking right through all the sections - you may well find a suitable small jar/tube being sold as a container/packaging for something else entirely.

A lidded jar full of water looks pretty much like an empty jar, so I wouldn't worry too much about the water effect.

you should be able to make your own jar out of plastic blister pack. Roll it into a cylinder and glue the base to a piece of plastic. Clang's point about looking like water without needing water effects is a good one. If you really need to you can give the plastic a slight wash with watered down blue paint, leaving a lip free at the top to show the meniscus.
