Just curious if a VC Character can take a Night-shroud and also take heavy armour??
I'm only confused as most times Magic armour replaces most mundane armour options.

Yes you can.
Think of this like the helmets in the BrB. Most of the items you mention will replace the character's army or it will say "count as heavy armour"

The shroud also only affects enemies in base contact. Beware of supporting attacks!
