    Death Guard Vs Imperial Guard. Any tips?

    Righto I haven't played too much against imperial guard, only in big apocalypse games so I don't really know what I'm doing against them.

    My list is:

    Chaos Lord in terminator armour
    Manreaper

    Daemon Prince w/ Wings

    4x Terminators
    Chainfist w/ Heavy Flamer
    Power Fist & 2 combi melta's
    Land Raider

    3 Squads of 7 Plague Marines
    Champs with PF's and 2 meltaguns each
    Rhino's

    2 Preds with las sponsons

    Vindicator

    Summoned Daemon

    everything has MON and it's a 2000pts game. No idea what the guy will bring but is their any generic advice people have about the list or Imperial Guard.

    Skip the fists? They're horrendously expensive and not really worth it against Guard.
    Strike hard and fast. Preferably on a refused flank if possible. And watch out for plasma veterans...

    Drop the fists, as both a death guard and a guard player I can tell yiu that they won't make aby difference against them. Givethe rhinos havoc launchers with the points as theory a gopd weapon that will be overlooked by your opponent. Vets are your main concern far as infantry, 3 plasma or melta is a nasty combo. If he takes mech he will undoubtedly take vets (cheap cheerful unit in a chimera) so pop as many proper tanks before worryin to much bout transports. U would be better taking a dedicated havoc unit with 4 meltas in a rhino than the summoned daemon(s) as they will give you more anti tank...all i can say is play him, then learn from it mate

    A part of me is also thinking you're better off dropping the Land Raider and adding more meltacide terminators.

    If you drop the lord n land raider and take 2 3 man combi melta termie squads instead of your 4 man you can get some chosen with either plasma for anti meq or teq or meltas for more abti tank...however with the rumours bout transports being nerfed maybe its time for more flamers to take out infantry that might spring up woth 6th ed

    Plaquechampions and fists are fail. They are far too expensive for what little they do.
    Termilords with daemonweapons are just as bad. Oh look at me, i am expensive, mediocre in combat and like to hit myself once in a while.
    Pick a second prince or save the points for something else. The Terminators lack Stormshields and are therefore not that hot. They also require the very expensive Landraider.
    Since raiders which aren't crusaders ( or have at least potms ) are bad, i advice to pick something else.
    More mechanised troopchoices would be good for example.
    The Vindicator is equaly bad. Yes yes, people look at it's mighty demolisher cannon and forget that the damn thing has an abominably low side av/ suffers badly from any and all damage results ( unless you take daemonic posession, but even then the Vindi isn't truly good ).
    Replace it with Oblits or havocs ( both are badly overpriced but can offer substantial long range firepower ) and hope that you can somehow deal with your opponent's vehicle park or, in rarer cases, lots of infantry.
    The preds are very vulnerable but at least they offer much firepower for a relatively affordable price.
    I am no fan of lesser daemons but a few people seem to use them to some effect so keep them if you wish.
    You surely cannot outmech IG but you should make certain that you can afford to take some serious losses while still being able to win.
    That means a robust amount of troops ( downgrade to normal csm when necessary ) in rhinos ( idealy rhinos with an extra weapon ).

    Change one of the rhino squads to 2x flamer and champ with combi flamer and power wpn. This unit has serious anti horde potential and works wonders believe me. Also I dont like the number of termies u are using 4 wont do anything and the terminator lord is kinda average too. I myself use 7 terminators on foot or DS and they work wonders (and are fluffy) but I also used regular PMs in a LR and they work fine but that LR will go down fast, be it melta vets or vendettas and u kinda need to get stuck in fast so 250pts for a better armoured rhino, that will probably die before it fires it's weapons is overkill. How about a bare 2nd winged daemon prince used as a shield for some rhinos??

    Thanks a bunch everybody. Some good tid bits in there. I'm of course limited by what I have too an extent but I had already made some of the changes that were mentioned. We shall see how I get on.
