is the liverpool GW store a big one?
Anyway I can't imagine a store will open at midnight for a preorder

Not a particularly big store but it does have an upstairs gaming room. Will see if i can pop in at the weekend and quiz the manager.
Posted elsewhere but with so many threads about the same thing...
One manager has said on their site
"It won't be a release party on 23rd. At a guess I would say the 30th would be a better date."
But blackshirts have been proven to be as clueless as their redshirt minions.![]()
Is it just because we're Canada, we do things differently, heh, but all GW store employees wear black...
On topic though, I would be very, very turned off by a store being open until midnight just for the chance to give them money and not get my hands on actual product. Because you'll be able to get it on the release day anyway, pre-order or not.
But you can own the White Dwarf that TALKS about it. A midnight release for a White Dwarf.
Sounds MONEY!!
A bit off topic but my local store is also having a midnight opening on the 30th, the black shirt couldn't tell me if thats for 6th, but he did tip off there will be a release schedule for that day.
Like most people have said - I'd go if I knew I'd walk out with the new rule book. I know I won't so I don't understand why anyone would bother?
Building armies gets in the way of my bitz box.
To have an excuse for a party at the local gaming store, with friends, music, booze, okay, without the music and booze, but still...
Good look with that? When was the last time GW gave out anything for free? I heard we're now even paying them to give us their advertisements...![]()
Yeah, if all it is is preorders will there really be that many people going to the store at Midnight just to hand over cash when they could do it with a click of the mouse from their home pc?
Seems like the most pointless thing ever if they're not going to actually be selling the books, the staff at liverpool must be way beyond committed to their job to do something so monumentally pointless at such an unearthly hour.
18th Company (Assault) 298th Cadian Shock - A Project Log updated June 3rd 2012
@RandomThoughts: Believe it or not, when I visited GW Memphis HQ in February they were giving away *free Valentine's Day cookies*. I didn't even have to buy anything! (which I didn't) They even let me have more than one! Imagine my shock...
Anyway, June 23rd at midnight, if GW doesn't have rulebooks to sell, maybe something else? A preview model perhaps? Or a special brochure that can't be obtained anywhere else? Little coloured sheets of paper might be just enough to appease the Blood God!![]()

Wow, free food, incredible. During openeing of GW Warsaw it was more of a "bring your own cake and we can eat it together to celebrate the openeing!".
My current best candidate for anti-Helldrake duties: Land Raider Crusader - SIXTEEN twin linked shots of Emprah's divine fury into rear armour 10.
I think this is going to be a white dwarf release party at best, I will be very very suprised if any one owns a rule book before the 30th or even the 7th as I'm still hearing about a 2 week pre-order window like there was with fantasy battle. That being said you never know they may be unvailing shop copies and chatting about how the new rules will work or something.
If it matters my local store in the states ( not a GW store) is hosting a last 5th edition tournament on the 22nd and selling the book on the 23rd at 12:01 am. That's what I was told anyway.
