    Warlord and Reaver titan load-outs?

OK so Taccomms is down and that is harshing my buzz.

Still thinking about Epic continues apace and given I have been looking into the Titan Legion list (http://traitor-legion.appspot.com/ch...gryphons_NETEA).

I have a decent number of titans (2 metal warlords, 2 Reavers (thinking about buying 2 more), 4 Warhounds) and a decent number of titan weapons but I have been wondering what builds / layout people like? I am planning on taking a saw to the Warlord weapons and making one with 2 Volcano cannons, and one with 2 Gatling Blasters...

    My weapons:
    Plasma Cannon x 4
    Quake Cannon x 2
    Laser Burner x 2
    Missile Launcher x 2
    Laser Blaster x 2
    Volcano Cannon
    Chain Fist
    Melta Cannon
    Power Claw
    Power Fist

TLD's and the quake+CLP combos seem popular, but it's really more of personal taste. Just define the role you want for the titan and build with what you have or what you like. MW are good choices since you have few activations and will need some way of dealing with reinforced armor or other WE.

From the look of it the Quake Cannon is a tasty option. Points are key though - I have taken a well-gunned Reaver and given it a Chainfist to save points and for character. Not sure if its optimal so depends whether you're looking for efficiency or character.

Edit: I assume you're magnetising? If not I recommend it, certainly for the older pattern titans.

Yeah I am absolutely magnetising, but also using the metal pattern warlord still sold by GW with have a very limited, and bad, selection of weapons (2 x TLD, Volcano Cannon, Gatling Blaster).

    Some more questions:

Why would anyone take a Gatling Blaster? It is poor compared to all the alternatives, especially on something like a warlord.

Are titans kitted out for CC really worth it? Warhounds cant be, Warlords are too slow to be reliably engaging, leaving only Reavers. Is 650+pts in a CC titan really worth it? - I am thinking of running a Melta Cannon, Las burner, TCCW Reaver.

Do people use the support missiles? Which ones, and why~?

No idea. It's too expensive/undergunned IMO it needs a 5th shot to be the equal of the other 25pt weapons.

It can be worth putting a CCW onto an artillery Titan, to prevent enemies engaging and killing it with teleporting Terminators etc. Otherwise, not really.

i'm trying to do a CC orientated chaos titan list, but it's a long loong way from approved status yet.

About the only use is if you want to use a standard pattern Warlord in your lists. You might also eek out some utility if you wanted to kit out for AP duty and 45cm VMB don't cut it. Unfortunately it's one of the weapons found in the core rules which makes it difficult to adjust.

I quite like my dual Gatling Blaster Warlord...he's not optimised...he sometimes fails to do anything useful...but I like that he looks like he's packing 2 gatling cannons the length of SHTs.
I do however need to change his carapace mounts from TLDs to something else.

Agreed, though, that the Gatling Blaster wound be a much more attractive option with a points decrease or an extra shot.

And I've armed ALL of my Reavers with a CCW as I use them as combat screens, seems to have worked fairly well so far (especially as a screen for my Imperator...so many Terminators...so many!).
That and CCWs on Reavers look cool.

MW are the way forward I think as you will need to get rid of those pesky leman's with their reinforced armour. CC weapons on the reavers too.

I have seen these and they don't look bad at all!

Re: Warlord and Reaver titan load-outs?

Having now recieved my Warlords I am going to be going with these two load-outs:

    Warlord w/ 2 x Turbo Laser Destructors, 2 x Gatling Blasters
I wish I had something other than the Gatling Blasters but I might just end up counting them as Laser Blasters instead. Moving forward I still think this, slighty cheap, Warlord will be able to do alright.

    Warlord w/ 2 x Plasma Destrutors, 2 x Volcano Cannons
Far more expensive, but also much more powerful I think - on a good day it could probably eat a fully shielded reaver in one turn.
