    Orc Heavy mek force

Hello all, this is my first proper army list, i usually play casually but i get eaten by most players at the store (the new chiswick one)
Keep in mind that i havent built it yet because id like to see what the community thinks

Its supposed to be around 1500 points army list but it is possible for me to easily turn it into a 3000 point army.

    Basic army:

    HQ

    2x Ork big mech (35) 70 170
    kustom force field(50) 100

    Troop choice

    2x deff dread (75) 150 190
    2 rokkit launchas(20) 40

    Elite

    3x 10 nobs (20) 600 660
    2 big choppas (5) 60

    Heavy support

    3x Battle wagon (90) 270 570
    killkannon (60) 180
    4 big shootas (40) 120

    This equals to 1590

to turn it into 3000 i do this=

remove the big choppas and give every nob a power klaw (25)
    1590-60+750=2280

add 2 dakka jets(110) with fighta ace red paint and extra supa shoota (10+5+10)
    220+20+10+20=270 2280+270= 2550

and add 3x 10 ork boys (60) including 1 nob with poweclaw (10+25) each with a trukk (35) with grot riggers and armour plates (5+10)
    180+105+105+45= 435 2550+ 435=2985

finishing off by giving each battlewagon a zzap gun (15)

    2985+45= 3030

This army would be 3030 points

    what do you guys think?

...No scoring units at 1500? You'll have to wipe out your opponent to win any sort of objective mission.

Yep, while the deff dreads are Troops, vehicles never count as scoring unless they have scoring units riding inside them or have been given a power/upgrade/etc that makes them so (Grey Knights grand strategy rule).

Allow me to say, that your list is far from optimal. Sadly, its not really playable at all, the point being that you have no scoring units whatsoever. Recall that no vehicles, and hence also your Deffdreads, can not claim objectives (they can contest though). Shootaboyz would work well around this problem. 2-3 mobs of 20, nob+claw+pole and big shootas should be fine and work very well from a fluff point of view imo.

With this out of the way let me say: you have no claws in the whole (1500) list. Claws are your friend. They are what orks are about (sadly). Get claws! For your nobs I would recommend 2-3. Your Meks probably dont need any.
Why no painboy for the nobs? Why no armour? And frags are also a good buy for them. They definately need a pole! Have a look at so called `wound shananigans' and max them this way. Better to buy 6 that get something done instead of 10 that have a high chance to get stuck with a dread for 2-3 turns.
Battlewaggons work best without the main gun. The main is just not good enough for the points you pay. Also: the deathrolla is an amazing item- no, absolutely none!- reason not to buy it! 4 big shootaz means that you want to stay back and shoot. But you have a transport here. Use that. Get only one big shoota and thats it (you need the one shoota for the "weapon destroyed" result or your tank loses the ability to move). I also like grot riggerz and the RPJ, but thats taste.
Your dreads have BS 2. Dont give them rokkitz! Flamer can work, or a big shoota or an extra CCW.

I would drop nobs in order to make the points you need to buy the shootaz. Get them a bagglewaggon ride and think about killakanz. They are great with a force-field mek, but they cut into your battlewaggon count.
Also: lootaz are really "meky" and they are very good. Buy some!
Maybe add a kopta or two? Meky as well and might help you with your ranged AT.
if you can, spend 40 points on grotz. Use them purely as objective grabbers. It usually works quite well- assuming you have enough other soft targets the opponent needs to worry about.

Thx for the feedback guys, working on lists around what you guys have said.

One point i forgot to mention, in my store, we normally only play kill everything games, thats what i based this army around.

also what about the 3000 point army additions? are those good enough?

    thx for the help guys

No need to give everyone a claw. If you have 10 nobs with 2-3 claws you will kill everything you want to kill. Put in some big choppaz and Wound-shanaigan upgrades and you are golden. Plus: you saved some points. Also: get that Painboy+ Cyborc bodys

    Haven't played them, don't know.

The nob need a pole as well. The trukk should have a ram and riggers +plates are waste imo. The trukks will die, so keep them cheap and simple.

As said before: BWs are no good gun plattform imo. Use their transport capacity+ the death-rolla. Also, as always with Orks: they will die! Keep them cheap and simple.

I would say that in 3k you want some koptaz with rokkitz. preferably teams of 2-3. No other upgrades.
One unit I love to play is burnaboys in a death-rolla BW. Give it a try!
I also have fun with a unit of ten bikes+nob (with the mandatory claw+pole). A good screen for the 2x 20 shootaboyz walking behind them. Its more a fun unit though and not very competative.

If you only have one FOC for 3k you are at a disadvantage with Orks. Keep this in mind when they crush you and after some testing you might want to ask if you can use two FOCs.
