    Blood Angels Planestrike Advice

I've been playing Blood Angels for quite a while and I at least like to think I have a sound grasp of them, however Planestrike is throwing me for a loop. I'm playing as the attacker in a 2,000 point tournament next week for the first time Planestrike game, and I have absolutely zero idea on what to take. Any advice?

    Jump pack assault marines.

You come in on a re-rollable 3+ on first turn, only scatter D6, and can assault after the deep strike. Do you really need anything else?

So. Jump pack marines are awesome, and scoring. Planet-strike gives your troops elite like abilities for free, so why pay for them. If you want elites and fast...
Blood priests for those FNP bubbles of imbalance
    Land speeders on anti-tank duties.
Occasionally accused of being helpful and constructive.
One ring Book to rule them all, one ring place to find them, One ring Codex to bring them all, and in the Darkness future bind them. Time for the unified Marine Codex.

Well yeah, it's a given to take assault marines. I'm look at assault marines with 2 meltas and a power fist in each squad, support by sanguinary priests as well as a couple librarians (maybe Dante as well?) however, they'll need support, that's what I'm wondering what to take

I've never played planetstrike but the impression I got from reading the book is that: you want to kill or control bastions. So flamers and melta.

I think a DOA list in planetstrike would be devastating regardless of the defender's list.

As others have said, assault marines are a must, honour guard do well too, melta equipped obviously and for resilience sanguine guard with a fist and melta pistol.
The other rout is 3 ravens with mm + las and some assault marines in landraiders. Makes a nice impact on turn 1 ;-)

Don't forget your attack from the ground - many people leave that option out. While you're dropping and assaulting them on turn one, why not give them another thought to think about with a pack of armour rolling in from your drop zone. You can bet they'll be lacking adequate weapons to combat this new threat since they'll be tied up by your 'striking troops.

So what would a 2,000 pt list look like?
Assault squads with a powerfist and 2 meltas of course. Maybe some preds or Baal preds?

Yeah I'd grab two Baals and one Annihilator to deal with any big models (Wraithlords, Carnies), after that just grab some regular marine squads to wipe up any remaining resistance and you should be in the clear - whatever you have left spend on cool stuff.

    Re: Blood Angels Planestrike Advice

In a 1500 planetsrike toutnie last weekend i took the following list

Libby with jump pack, epis upgrade and blood lance and sanguine sword
    Reclusiarch with jump pack

Priest with jump pack n power sword
    Priest woth terminator armour
5 assault termies with 3 thunder hammers
Furioso librarian with blood lanve and wings

2 x 5 assault marines with power sword and melta
5 assault marines wiyh fist and melta
5 death company with jump packs and 3 power weapons

This destroyed imperial guard grey knights chaos dark eldar and eldar in 5 seperate games. I was able to destroy bastions with the meltas and then kill the guys inside easily. Only problem i found was lack of bodies to be honest. Although i won evey game it wasnt very fun (apart from against the guard as he took alot of tanks so had to hide from the executioners) with the added points id put a death company dread with talons in. As well as possibly some devastators with 4 missile launchers or maybe some vanguard with lightning claws or fists...up to you mate
    ok so looking for
    Leman russes
    Chimeras
    Valkyries

Check out my "Get your backside in Gear" PLOG...please?

    Re: Blood Angels Planestrike Advice

Always combat squad. 5-6 assault marines (if you include a priest etc) has an absolutely tiny deep striking footprint. It is absolutely possible to get in between squads, defence lines etc, right inside their base. And remember, they can assault the turn they land too.

Baal Preds with just the firestorm cannon can be pretty useful too. - You can feasibly take a bastion intact with one of them if you get a clear run.

Furisio Librarians with Wings of Sanguinius can be useful as well, again it's being able to fly over most of the defences and then assault the bastions. Furisio with a frag cannon in a drop pod can be fun too.

Generally speaking though, it's all about the deep striking melta guns...

Vanguard are completely redundant when attacking in planetstrike.
