Just received my 2 ork bomber models only to open them up and to find that BOTH sets are missing the rear turret canopy.
Has anyone else had this or have I just been incredibly unlucky.

I think you were just that unlucky.
Call GW, tell them you're missing what pieces you're missing and they'll replace them at no cost.

My kit had the part but the turret was hanging on barely. It seems to be a weak point and probably happens when pulling out of the mold, or it's just got a thinner sprue tag.
I expect it's common and they will happily replace it as suggested.
