    Arcane miniatures anger

    Hi all

A word of warning for anyone who is thinking about buying stuff from Arcane Miniatures - don't. I made the silly mistake of not searching on google first and now I am £40 less well off.

They don't respond to emails, phone calls or messages via their website and it's been days now with no response at all.

    Beware them at all costs.

Agreed - had lots of problems with them in the past, I remember preordering some Uncharted Seas when it first came out that never arrived. Took a few months for them to acknowledge they weren't going to stock it, so by the time I got some the game had been out a few weeks and I was last in the group to get to play. I did get the money back though.

Also a LGS owner knew the guy who runs Arcane and never had anything complimentary to say about him.

Seems like I've made a big mistake ordering from them. Ordered a week ago with all items being in stock (they still are) and paid for a courier delivery for the order to arrive faster. Since then no updates, no communication of any kind. They didn't respond to the website form query, no response to email either. Their phone seems to be disconnected (the message I get indicates that). I think next week I'll talk to PayPal about rolling back the payment.

Honestly, this needs to be stickied, this comes up a fair bit. Which is irritating because I haven't found anywhere else europe-based that sell Anima Tactics regularly

Yeah, the postal address is a virtual office. I ordered some stuff a few years ago and only got it because I lived 5 mins away from the owners actual address. I think I ended up paying by cheque through his front door. I know a number of people at my old club tried and failed to buy from him.
Best of luck getting your money back.

I finally got a word back and a promise the entire order would be shipped today-tomorrow. I can wait that long.

I've ordered from Arcane and had no problems. It was the Infinity: Paradiso book and ltd ed miniature. The day they landed in their office, they were dispatched to me. I was happy.

I've also nothing but good stories to tell from arcane, only gripe I heard was a mate had ordered a load of disc world stuff he waited ages for it.... When he got hold of them they said 1 item was out of stock and they were waiting for it before shipping the whole lot, he was annoyed that they didn't contact him to let him know this was the case. I myself have always had a good service from them.... In fact I ordered some Hell Dorado stuff 3 days ago so I'll see how long it takes as its all "in stock"

Tbh, I think if they have it in stock, you're fine. If it's not though, good luck getting anything from them.

    Yup, same thing with me.
Ordered a WW2 sniper, after a month still no sign of my mini, i tryed to call and email them, no response at all, nearly 2 months of waiting and un answered emails or calls my Mini arrived, the blisters was all smashed in on the front and the sniper rifle, an arm and the head were missing, again after countless times trying to get a hold of someone, no response, i finished up leaving a post on there facebook page about my experience. You cant post directly on there FB page so i left it in the comments of an unrelated picture they had only just put up, again it was just ignored, they dident even delete it.

    Re: Arcane miniatures anger

All in all they shipped it about two days after the promised date. Apparently the lack of contact was due to a family member being in the hospital. This happens.

To put this into context, the Arcane Miniatures experience wasn't great but they still sent the purchase in less than two weeks from the date of transaction. This pretty much never happens with Wayland.
I don't think I'll use Arcane anymore though. The disconnected phone (this normally happens when somebody doesn't pay the bill) scared the hell out of me.

I've ordered from them twice in the past year and had no problems. They weren't great at communicating, but I nepeve they are a one man band operation, which kinda expains things.

Both times were for andrea paint sets and they arrived after about a week. Certainly will use them over wayland and feverishly awaiting the x wing restock as they have the best prices avaiable.

I've ordered from them several times and always had good service. The only time i had a delay was once when i placed an order without looking at their homepage, where there was a notice saying they were clossed for a holiday for a week or so, so it was entirely my own fault. It is a one man business, so things like illness can cause disruption as there's nobody to cover time off.

From what I've heard(enough to make me not want to chance it), if he has the stuff in stock, then he's great. It's when he doesn't have it in that you won't get anything out of him.

He used that excuse on me last year. I paid for courier delivery (next day) and all the stock was listed as being available. In the end I threatened to cancel the order and finally got it in the post a month and a half after I ordered it. And it was sent second class post... He didn't even bother to refund me the extra postage costs or anything.

Worst store I ever used and I won't be back.
Currently disappointed that the world didn't end this Christmas...

    Re: Arcane miniatures anger

Well I had problems with arcane a few years ago.

Tried them again over the past 18 months or so and have had much better service until my last 2 orders (both quite small). One response from AM to my emails, which did not answer all my issues hence multiple emails. Initiated Payapal dispute on the first order and will do the same on the second tomorrow if not contact.

ALL items I ordered were listed as 'In stock'. Some have since had listings wholly removed.

I know others have had nothing but good service, but no third chances from me I am afraid.

    Re: Arcane miniatures anger

I placed an order mid-march, took 3 weeks and several e-mails to arrive but unfortunately it was the wrong item. I e-mailed straight away and surprisingly got an answer the next day saying the correct item would be sent right away with a S.E.A for the return.

I have still not received anything and had no response to the countless e-mails I have sent.

By far the worst online shopping experiance I have had.

I place an order last week, special delivery - a paint set and Malifaux Taelor. Five days later I hadn't heard anything so sent an email - I got a reply the following day saying they would go sometime today. I asked for a refund under the distance seller regulations* and he sent it. Why offer a service you cant deliver on?
