It's still not the same. I don't know exactly what you should google to find stuff about indian chariots (well, probabkly "indian chariot" ), but you should look at them, they're cool, and a whole different matter. They were big things with 4 wheels and platforms. Roman chariots could have 4 horses too, that still didn't make them apt to charging infantry.

With the release of tomb kings I was actually half expecting a super chariot loaded to the brim with tomb guard and archers.

Well, the chariot is half there in the new OnG book, there's one like that described somewhere in the fluff (it kindda stung that they did think about one but it didn't make the list. I mean, some day, will common gobs get some love? Forest gobs is fine, but night goblins again, and again, and again, c'm'on :/)

Yeah but those were common goblin upgrades....nobody takes common goblins.

On a more thread related topic...

I think not enough things generate impact hits, dragons and the like should also generate them
Although only if they roll sufficiently high for their charge (like how ogres generate extra hits for rolling extra high)

Spears and the like shouldn't be any defence against impact hits, we need to encourage the use of chariots and such rather than diminish them.
Otherwise all we'll be left with is a bunch of giant horde blocks of infantry and that would be very boring (it's basically dwarves!).
