    My first (Bretonnia) army

As I just got my first Warhammer battalion box, its contents will have to be assembled, painted and given elaborate backstories! (Perhaps not everyone, but then it is Bretonnia.) So I hereby open my first warseer plog to keep track of my progress.

    I will be making:
    8 Knights Errant
    20 Men-at-arms
    16 Bowmen
    4 charge breaker spikes
    and
    1 Pegasus Knight

To start me off, the first few models in various stages of assembly:

I'm not sure whether I'm giddy from the models or the glue, but yayifications!

    Re: My first (Bretonnia) army

I've been assembling a bunch of models, mostly horses. I realised that my mispurchased D&D horses from a few months ago were actually Bretonnian steeds, so I've got five extra horses and some more head variety to show for it.

Still just one guy to ride them, so he sort of seems like a shephard so far. :P

Speaking of the horses, I noticed this odd seam-like gap in the fabric on the horses backside, just to the right of the belt thingy connecting the saddle to the tail (for some reason). Is that the sort of thing I should be filling out with green stuff? And do I cut off the stuff that connects the mid-air hooves to the base?

I also set up all the stakes and a couple of archers.

After trying to stack a few behind each other, I realised that the way I set them up the first row blocks the second row. I'll try to build my last 8 archers in such a way that I can put them behind the first row. Not sure how yet, though.

And the command group! The musician doesn't actually have a head yet; I picked out a bald head for him and will be lining it up so that he appears to be blowing his horn. My champion is a lazy fat guy, since these archers haven't seen hand to hand combat in years. He's also a lefty. The musician talked him into holding an arrow for moral support. Meanwhile, the banner bearer is trying his best to be "the normal one", with a proper helmet on his head and a club just in case anyone comes too close. Of the three, he's served in the archery division the shortest; he used to be a rank-and-file man-at-arms.

As about the gap near the tail basis, it is easy to fill with GS/liquid-GS. And... Yes You should cut off the parts that holding hooves to the base, without them bases looks much better.
