I'm trying to keep the Titan more or less pristine. The chip on the striped leg IS an actual chip; no idea how that happened, so I'll have to do some weathering to blend that in.

I hate to nitpick because you're doing a fantastic job. But if you want the Titan to be +/- pristine, could you get out some sculpting putty and fill in the chip rather than weathering around it? (I actually had a hard time finding the chip at first, which makes me think it's probably minor enough that it would be a simple fix.)

Looks fantastic, I'm especially eager to see how the shading on the legs looks when the top of the Titan gets pinned on.

I'd be concerned about using putty on the leg post-paint. I think I'd rather keep the paint job as it is. I am rather messy with putty.

this is coming along so incredibly well. the clock and blue wall are a fantastic touch adding a very human element which is often over-looked in 40k, and its great to see the princeps getting some love- can't think of a single princeps model i haven't liked.

I'm cross posting this here, as this thread does get a bit of traffic, and some of you may not follow my Facebook page. If this is more appropriate in another section, mods please either move or copy at your discretion.

A bit of a Public Service Announcement - I know many of you may have seen this through forums (particularly DakkaDakka), but in case you haven't:

It's come to my attention that there's what appears to be a persistent, dedicated scammer at large, and at least one of WCM's clients have been affected.

Please be aware that Three Stage Studios / Daniel Mandelbaum / Matthew Bonder / Red Star One appear to be the same person and SHOULD NOT be traded with as there are a number of non-delivery complaints coupled with no refunds.

There is sufficient case for me to warn against ALL of the identities listed above, whether they eventually prove to be the same person or not.

The general MO appears to be that some (reasonable looking) conversion kits / parts are offered for sale, or commission painting services are offered at a knock-down rate. Some are delivered, but later orders are not filled, and the scammer retires from the community before resurfacing under another name. This time round the parts in question are a True Scale Terminator kit, with MKV PA style studs. You'll know it when you see it. There's also a Knight Titan kit, which consists of partially recast Lego bionicle pieces, watch for that too, not only is it illegal to recast Lego parts, it's a model that's associated with this particular scammer.

There are a great number of established folks offering services - not just us here at WCM; Golem Painting Studio, Precinct Omega, Blue Table Painting etc are all established services. Known folks may have queues, higher prices, but we've gotten established over a lot of time. Bottom line, please check out who you send money to before you send money.

Sorry if this isn't quite appropriate here but I don't like seeing folks get fleeced by the seedier elements of the commission / modelmaking business.

This week I've been plodding away on the inside of the titan.

Some cleanup to do, particularly around the dials and controls, and there's a few marks that will be weathered in here and there. But it's getting there. Hopefully I'll finish the internals midway through next week, then I'm back to painting gold trim on the carapace for a bit...

If you don't mind me asking a slightly odd question, where did you buy your paint cabinet? (I assume it's for paint because of the ink/wash, tan/brown, red etc written on it)

If I had a fleck of your talent, I would be much better than I am atm.

The paint drawers are from IKEA. They're not great as the vallejo bottles won't stand up in them, and they're very, very full indeed. I really need to get a better storage solution for paints sorted soon. My plan is to finish my current (rather heavy) backlog of commissions and then have a proper sort out of my whole studio area.

Because I loves me some freehand... and cos I started doing this to cover up a rough surface on the Vulcan Bolter I'd failed to spot and got carried away and now have to do the whole damn thing to match...

The morning star is an outline decal painted in to keep it precise.
