I think there's also something to be said for putting Epidemius in with some Nurgle friends. Plague Marines have a lot to gain from AP2 Bolters, while you should get the tally up nice and quickly with 4+ Daemon Princes running about. Throw in the new '6+ to hit' with those Wings and you're in the money!
You can be damn sure that'll only happen in apocalypse.
Thousand Sons/Daemons of Tzeentch/Vampire Counts
There is a way through the coming darkness. But to find it we must change.
We must change and change until Change is our master, for nothing neither god nor mortal can hold that which has no form. Change is the constant that cannot be changed.
Depends on how this is implemented, if at all. I have heard Force Org charts are still in, but whether it is Force org or percentages, I'm betting that the allies have to follow it. So no 6+ heavy support choices running around, or no spending 60% of your points on Heavies/Rares/Whatever they are called.
And Epidemus as an ally... heh... heh... heh...
Nurgle Prince
Epidemus
2 giant nurgling squads
Plague Marines
Daemon Princes/MoN Havoks
"Now that cover is majority 5+, we now have AP2 heavy bolters! Dakkadakkadakka..."

From my understanding the allies system is meant for team games. Not for one player to take two armies into one

That was just bad wording to stir up the pot. Team games or special missions only.
Daemon allies? More like CSM allies.
Give my Fatecrusher some Lash Princes and Melta Plague Marines and call it a day. Or hell, just a Termicide squad.
Or Oblits. Dear lord, Oblits. Yes.
Well, we will need something to compensate for the fact that we can no longer beat terminators in close combat (if Khorne daemons now get AP3 on their swords instead of ignoring all armour saves, our primary means of dealing with terminators goes out the window)
I expect some wishy washy "it's all optional just play the game how you feel" wording in the book...
Mark.
My understanding of how allies works isn't that you get to use 2 FOC charts.
It's more like the FOC Chart now works like a tree, with certain branches opening up other branches on the tree.
So if you take certain things they will allow you to take certain other things from another allied Codex.
This doesn't mean you can cherry pick the best bits from other Codices, more like you may be able to take 1 troops choice for a certain amount of troops choices from the parent list.
I am guessing it's like the old Witch Hunters / SoB / Guard / Marine allies in the old Daemon Hunters Codex.
And I have heard mixed rumours regarding whether or not it's just for team games or not, so you might be able to use allies in standard games.
Even if it says " for team games", it's not like you need to change any rules to simply play a large game with only one player per side.
Assuming both players agree to it, of course.
I would like to add Fateweaver to my Thousand Sons army.![]()
Lion: Hey Russ, you'll never guess what!
Russ: Yeah, I know! Magnus is a traitor! To think that he could accuse our beloved brother Horus of turning against us. Impossible! But don't worry. I have taken care of it, Horus asked me to destroyed Prospero and I have. Magnus shouldn't be bothering us again.
Lion:... actually, I was going to say that Magnus was right. Horus has turned to Chaos, 7 other Legions have joined him and he has destroyed 3 Loyal Legions already!
Russ:

Brimstone. Gone but not forgotten.
slapping down 4 greater daemons and 6 daemonprinces with 20 bloodletters is why this rumor needs to be put down. Most of it is optional/ campaign rules team games and fun stuff. It's not for standard 40k,
Err... we all know that the allies game in WD is one player per side right?
