The sense movement you captured is great.
Can't wait to see it painted.

the only problem with sheep's plogs, is that they are so good pages quickly are overflowed by the many people commenting on and complimenting the amazing work! :P

Those Contemptors are breathtaking. Absolutely incredible work.I love the grey/green of the Sons of Horus as you don't see that colour too often in an army. Your weathering is also superb. 5 stars!

I used a sponge, the stuff from the old blister packs works fine, or you can use off cuts from your carry case. First sponge on the last highlight colour of the model, in this case astronomicon grey. Let that dry, then sponge on chardon granite in slightly smaller patches. I then seal the model with gloss varnish and add oils and pigments to finish the weathering.

I'd love to see your abbadon, I might do one of my own once..
I'm especially interested in seeing do the heavy weathering on black (something I find particularly hard to do properly)
Yeah I've seen DPAs Abaddon, amazing, I think I'll grab the FW version when they release him though, just seems easier Weathering black is something that has eleuded me too, so I will have to experiment before I get to it.

I used the tutorial done by DPA http://www.warseer.com/forums/showth...=1#post6164889 and just added more weathering.

    Re: Sheep's Sons of Horus

    Thanks guys

Well its been a while. Things have slowed down due to the start of the uni year and the running around that is involved in that, I'm expecting it to be a very slow year of hobby until the holidays because of the amount of time I'll have to put into my degree.

However, I have some more progress to show:

Firstly, the model that I am most happy with so far, Bannerman "TBD":

Continuing the mixing of the Mks of armour, I also added one of the FW bionic arms from the character upgrade set they released. The banner is the standard from the SM command squad, with various purity seals which I have used to cover up an abortive attempt at damaging the standard.

Betrayal say the Sons used to gild the skulls of worthy opponents, this is the first time I have added skulls to a model in the SoH force, though they should be making more of an appearance from now on.

Secondly, a Sgt for the new squad, armed identically to the previous one, he does however have a bionic arm.

Next we have some troopers, one of which will have a plasma gun.

And finally we come to something different, I have been trying to figure out how to make my assault marines stand out, and didn't want to go with the named company of black armoured marines. So I decided that my assault marines will be a unit of World Eaters seconded to the Sons, or simply picked up in the heat of battle. In this way I can explain why they just get thrown out in the thick of the fighting, with no regards to casualties (I'm pretty terrible at keeping assault units alive) as the SoH commander simply doesn't care.

I need to buy some more of the FW chainaxes, and maybe one of the new sets with the pistols before I can finish this squad.

    Thanks for looking.

Awesome update mate They all look great! I've also fallen for the lures of the blood god and am going to be making a small group of WE marines :P I'm currently building a contemptor with a bigass chain blade under his lascannon

The banner bearer has a wonderful, solid pose - he looks stoic. It's also nice to see the various armour marks being inter-mixed - I'm currently trying to work out the extent to which I should do the same thing for a Sternguard squad. Not sure that Mk.IV legs look entirely balanced with the Mk. II & III torso, however - though that might be the photo?

    @ Sheep

Loving the blog, but a question: how come the heads of some of the marines are in an odd orangey material I've never seen before (post 208)? Just curious as to what it is, or if you made your own spares from the original? If so, how does one do that?

Congrats on the gw post sheep, though i think your army derves at the very least it's own WD spread. Must say I do enjoy roaming this log time to time, and hopefully pick up some things for my marines, though it would end up looking nothing as good on yours

Those seconded WE sound great too, a good concept to get in a variety of styles and units in an army.
