Thread: Syn’s Cadian Special Operations Platoon

Re: Syn’s Cadian Special Operations Platoon

@ChrisMurray: Thanks, and I like your priority there. First the beer, then the models

@Rhaivaen: I totally agree, the Ratlings really are awesome little models. I'm not sue if I'll use them very much but I just love the look of them so I had to pick up a set. And I'm afraid it's not Marbo.

The mystery character is now fully built, 10 points to whoever can guess which character he is meant to be!

And I painted the Las Gun Veteran. Since he doesn't have squad yet he's just standing in as a Bodyguard in my Command Squad.

    All C&C welcome.

I don't know the IG well enough to guess at the character, what I can say about him is that he is very well modeled. There is lots of little details that I like. He also seems to be packing a lot of explosives.

Like the others the vet\temp-bodyguard is well painted, I'm especially drawn to the granades on his belt. They are well painted and add a nice bit of character.

    Marbo is too obvious.
    Sergeant Bastonne.

    It's definitely isn't Marbo

Yup, Chrismurray is right, it's not Marbo, but it's not Bastonne either. I'll get him painted tomorrow, that'll make it much clearer.

I like the overall look of your Vets, and the Command Squad is very nice. The Heavy Bolter on the HellRhino irks me though, and I really think you need to do something about it, as it looks too tacked-on, especially considering the quality of the Guardsmen.

On another note, the Commisar is actually my favourite bit, he's really a great model.

Re: Syn’s Cadian Special Operations Platoon

Nope, it’s not Straken, hopefully this'll help-

And a little hint, I never said he was an Imperial Guard character

@ unwanted: I see what you mean about the Bolter, I'm working on improving the Hellhound gradually. I added some external gear and I will be adding more, I attached a view port today and I'll be replacing the Heavy Bolter too.

I also did some more work on the Veterans, I painted the Commander and I built some guys with flamers-

    The Commander.

    The flamers.

Re: Syn’s Cadian Special Operations Platoon

Then he's not part of the Cadian Special Operations Platoon because Cadia is all Imperial Guard.
    It's the Emperor.

nice progress so far fella, i'd be interested to see some photos taken with a neutral background. your green stuff work is nicely done and the commissar is particularly impressive, simply yet very effective. looking forward to seeing more.

I don't rate assassins as characters, so that would have put me off of the right logic
