Next Imperial Armour Book - Aeronautica

It appears from the latest White Dwarf that Forge World will be producing a book called Aeronautica that will detail over 40 flyers. This is important because maybe the real rules for the Storm Eagle will be a little better!

Aha. Maybe this was the source for Harry's earlier rumour about an expansion for the Aeronautica Imperialis game. Never mind, I'm sure this will be very cool anyway. Perhaps FW have more 40k scale fliers in the works...

Imperium vs Chaos in an air war sounds interesting.

I wonder if we'll be seeing some more Chaos Flyers then, or some conversion kits to Chaosify the Imperial ones.

40 flyers, how many flyers do we already know about including super heavy ones?

Is 47, so even if they took out the GW ork variants and didn't include the blasta-bommer (as there's currently no model) that would cover it. Might see a return of the wargear for flyers though which would be nice.

There are others from the AI games such as the Chaos Harbinger bomber, but it is so huge it might not be up for a 40k scale kit.

I'm a big fan of AI, but if the number is around 40 then I don't think we'll see a lot more than what they've got already. Think it's more an update book than a sneak peak at new things, the Blasta-bomber and the Avenger are probably not going to make it in.

Re: Next Imperial Armour Book - Aeronautica

It says 40 aircraft and vehicles - so there could be updated rules for things like the hyperous etc etc, not simply 40 aircraft.

Re: Next Imperial Armour Book - Aeronautica

Why would the IA book include rules for GW flyers like tha Stomtalon, Razorwing etc? Makes more sense to assume the book will be solely for FW flyers/AA, bringing them in line with 6th.

Re: Next Imperial Armour Book - Aeronautica

This is a Forgeworld book. It's not going to include the rules for GW codex models like the Storm Raven or Necron Scythes, it's just updating the rules from FW books because otherwise several dozen of their big models suddenly become useless in game.

Yeah, I see this existing for more or less the same reason as IA Apocalypse.

Something I have noticed on page 96 of the latest WD, is the Red Thunderbolt, most notably it`s wings, as in they look too thin to be resin cast IMO. When I`ve seen one it in the past I recall it having thicker wings. The difference it thickness reminds me of that of the two Tau Piranha versions. That and the style of the painting of the model strikes me as more 'Eavy Metal style as oppose to the "dusty" style of most forge world painted models.

That all said it it could just be the angle the photo was taken.

Ah, hey everyone. I've been looking for a new roleplaying game ever since my Lord Of The Rings-club booted me for using an actual warhammer, so would anyone mind if I pretended to be Chief of Medicine while Kelso is out of town?
