    Forging a world

In the past years i managed to start lots of nice projects, inspired by the posts of 40k forums. althought i start with lots of energy and will, life allways manage to bring me to a stalemate. hopefully i will soon restart some of my projects with renewed strenght, on top of my priority, sits my 3D spacehulk/ 40k apocalypse terrain/ zone mortalis terrain. wich ill be posting WIP pics soon.

this is the only piece of the set that is completed. it is a four square corridor for space hulk, and if upside down it is a piece of scenery for WH40k battles.

Really like these. Something very atmospheric and claustrophobic about them. Reminds me of Resident Evil 4 and 'It'.
Looking forward to seeing some more.

    Re: Forging a world

these will be the space marine entry points.
i wanted them to look like kinda action movie background on wich the marines storm into the fray from plausible ways of attacking a stronghold ( in this case, a spaceship ). so i decided to ram or melt(a) the way in.
this is another early WIP, but you can get the idea...

Sticking to the plan, rooms that will be buildings (maybe even a defense laser), crossroads or bastions (much wanted in 6th ed.), corridors for wall sections (or gates in this case. yes its low, but with two more 3tile corridors under it will be high enough for a super-heavy to use- in theory).

    Re: Forging a world

Yesterday i got some of my older terrain out of the shelf where it gathered dust and restarted painting it. The landing pad was built before GW started selling its own version and i was thinking of dismantling it and buy the GW model, but i got melancholic and decided not to. So here it is, my manufactorum/ landing pad complex.

    Re: Forging a world

Thanks guys. And to think that i was advised against painting it in detail! my mates told me that i should just spray it grey and call it terrain (like they do :P ). Truth is, i really think this pieces are an awsome sculpt, and they deserve some more than spray and highlighting. I must also say, against many opinions... that colourfull terrain does not divert the players attention from the game, and im sad that most people chooses the easy way.
Im making great progress in this and im showing some more stuff very soon.

    Re: Forging a world

Also, want to show you this.
It serves no purpose other than a terrain feature. I have lots of models that take no part in any army list, but i employ them in fluffy scenarios moving (ramdomly most times) around. Usually they attack anyone that gets within 12''.
Why make a model like this? just because!

Great looking Scenery. I actually did just spray my admech building red and yours looks much better!

    Re: Forging a world

Inspired by the modular tables of my fellow 'warseerites' i started my own.In truth, i've been playing in a featureless table for too long.
In the past two weeks i worked on 2sets of terrain. one for city fight, and another for jungle warfare. I wanted a terrain feature that marked my terrain so i got this crazy idea of building a river.
One of the sets is now ready and im still working on the city one. I used several materials and tricks that are easily recognizable.

Here's a couple of pics of the set: a river and a beach head (saving private ryan, anyone?)

I will post the city tiles as soon as I finish them. (As a sidenote, i did got the sanctum imperialis out of the shelf, dusted it and placed it again, lol.)

    Re: Forging a world

Thanks. I know it as clear silicon sealant, dont know if latex is the same thing (can anyone confirm this?). The most common type is white, for bathroom use. I used the clear type, wich was cheaper than the crystal clear one. Anyway you must paint the base where you will apply it, in anyway you find convenient: browns for muddy water, yellows for beach shallow waters, deep sea blue, you can even add siluettes of creatures etc. Its a pretty easy trick.

    Re: Forging a world

As promised, i've some more WIP pics to show.
Only slow progress on this one, because creating detail and texture is very time consuming. On top of this, vacations have ended, and life is catching up on me again. I'll try to show some more of the city tiles in a couple of weeks (if no other project gets in the way :P).
