1000 is probably too low to pull off a Kantor list. Think about it, as far as wounds go your putting all of your offense in the hands of Kantor and 11 marines. They'll get zapped too quick and leave you trying to run scouts to a center objective, then they'll get pasted too.

I'd keep it standard for 1000 points. Use a Librarian as your HQ if you're set on winning, they're generally the best option.

A unit of scouts is always nice to have, but I'd take a 10 man squad with Telion for the cheap cloaks and the ability to pop a special weapon guy out of a squad. That way, you can combat squad if you want to sit on two objectives, but you don't have to offer up two kill points in KP games.

You're probably going to want two full tac squads, one in a Rhino, one that gets combat squaded with a Razorback so the Librarian can ride too.

Any leftover points should get put into fire support units. Devastators are OK, but dual TLAC Dreadnoughts (called Riflemen) or Autocannon Predators are more points efficient for what you get.

But of course, this is all going to change soon when 6th get's released. Librarians are going to change, and I'm really not sure if it'll get better or worse for them. Tactical marines will get much better, and not require transport. Sternguard will get better also. Sniper scouts -might- get much better, but if they do Telion will get worse. Dreadnoughts will get worse, and tanks will be easier to destroy, but also more mobile while shooting, so it's a toss up with them. That's about all I can think of for the moment.

The big thing is that in 6th Rapid Fire weapons get a nice buff, so bolters get better, buffing Tacs and Sternguard.

I didn't think storm bolters allowed the use of special ammo? Sort of defeats the point of stenguard doesn't it?

Good catch, I didn't notice that.

NEVER take SBs on Sternguard, even heavy weapons are usually skipped.

Looks solid, try a few proxy games out and let us know how it works.

Could swap the dreads out for Destructor predators which would give you another 60 points to play with.
