    Rvd's Tau project

    Hey all

Time for me to finally do a project log.
I'm revisiting my old love-Tau and will log progress as I go.
I'll be doing classic Tau colours as this is the scheme I fell for on their first ed release, I'll be trying to keep them simple and nothing too involving as I don't want to get bogged down.

First WIP is the first devilfish and here's an up to date pic to bring right up to speed

Looking good so far mate, it's nice to see the original Tau colours done so well. Your highlights are great too. Looking forward to seeing this develop.

Beautiful colur tone you got going there. Can't wait to see more!
Are you using an airbrush? I'm trying to work out how to use an airbrush best on battlesuits too. I think Tau look best if their colours are totally smooth/clean like that and then have dark weathering as contrast.

    Thanks!!

It's airbrush for the base colours and pattern. Then brush for the highlighting/edging

Lovely nice, subtle camo on them. A very clean and nice reproduction of the studio look!

Out of curiosity, what brush and compressor do you use? I'm looking to invest in one for my Eldar and not spend a fortune.

    Hey

My compressor is from this local supplier and is the AS186 model
    My airbrush is a badger 100 G.

    Pretty happy with the combo

    Devilfish now complete

Wow, the airbrush use really gives the Tau vehicles that clean finish how I would imagine them to look like in real life! Good job.

It makes it so much achievable time wise, it used to take absolutely ages with a brush, and the results weren't as good either

    Thanks for the comment

Nice work on the Devilfish, it looks great, and I like the Vespid in red.
