    Fantasy Nurgle Chaos Lord

A christmas present from my sister's boyfriend. Its one of my favourite models in the GW range and i really enjoyed painting it. Painting it taught me a lot too.

I messed up the undercoat and sprayed too far away giving the surface a grainy texture, which shows when zoomed right in. It effects some of the blends but meh..... i'll get it right next time It doesnt look too bad in the photo.

Looks awesome, what colours did you use for the armour?

I think the grainy texture works for the armour, being all Nurgle-y. The blends on it are beautiful. Same with the horns and the weapon.

Grainy doesnt work so much for the skin. The skin itself is rather flat being almost entirely midtones with no highlights and too subtle shading. The OSL eyes and the blend to the stomach wound are really good.

The open stomach I am not too enamoured of. It's very very clean, all blue with a neat little spurt of green bile. His teeth and mouth are also much the same.

Overall, very nice work, well done.

I liked it enough to save a copy to my hdd.

Indeed it's a great mini, one of my favourites too. Very nice effects on it, the blade of the axe looks great, and the bright parts fit well, except for the tongue maybe.

The armour was a base coat of catachan green and black (half and half). I then badab blacked the recesses and worked it up to pure catachan green then added successive amounts of rotting flesh. Then edged with pure rotting flesh. I then used a very watered down glazes of vermin brown then liche purple in the shaded areas to give it some interest.
