Bastions
Defense lines
Coms Relay
Big Fortress
And probably more we don't know about
Personally I will use the Fortifications with my SM and IG, I love the look of imperial terrain and I have quite a bit of it, I think being able to implement it in my army will be a fun, if not the most competitive choice.
No. There are no Tau Empire, Eldar, or Dark Eldar fortifications. My sculpting skills suck so I won't be able to make a "counts as" terrain either,

seems like a cheap way to add some tough armor to a list. 14 AV bastion for much less than its tank counterpart.
I cant imagine Tyranids using them but as I mentioned in other threads the venomthrope ballistic skill would finally make sense with all those tenticles venomthropes can take care of aiming, firing, reloading, target resolution, camoflauge for the emplacement with their cloud and clearing jams all at the same time.

There are those that look down on the Imperial Guard. I say let them, it will make victory all that much sweeter.
For my IG, SM, CSM, and Orks. Not for my daemons however.
imperial guard will. orks and necrons will get scratch built, and space marines wont. fortifications ruin the point of a drop pod list

My Sanguinary Guard won't given its a bit hard to fortify when you are jump packing. Plus i just know that if i deploy a fortification i will inevitably deep strike onto it and lose half my army.
I'm tempted to model up a possessed bastion for my Daemons though. Granted the risk applies when deep striking, but my army at least is three times the size of my Blingwing so i can absorb the losses when it goes horrendously wrong.

Im looking forward to modeling some nid fortifications. I already have a nice idea for the fuel barrels, making some sort of fleshy pod like things etc :-) tank traps will be fun to make too

I'm considering playing a Blood Angels gunline with fortifications just to recreate the first battle from Bloodquest...
The big frog leading the lizardmen is called a "Slann" not a "Slaan", the big bird in the Empire is called a "Griffon" not a "Gryphon". The Bretonnian bird is, unfortunately, called a hippogryph.
So do we know yet what races will have what kinds of fortifications or is it all just generic terrain? IE: Do Necrons get a fortification with gauss or tesla weapons while Orks get Bigger Shoota's etc

Absolutely, finally an incentive to actually build some of the Dark Eldar (an more Eldar) terrain i've been planning for ages. Slap a group of ten Pathfinders in a fortification and watch them get a 2+ save and mince up all sorts of nasties with the new improved sniper and would allocation rules.

Might be fun to use a "parked" Monolith as a fortification. It also gives me a good excuse (other than display) to build up a Soul Cage for the DE.

Oh, but your guardsmen will still die when in fortifications, just at a slower rate, giving them more time to return fire.....
My praetorian line infantry is seriously considering investing in large amounts of mealy-bags.....
Personally, I think it is kind of stupid that someone is going to bring an entire bastion to a fight. I mean really, did you just BUILD the damn thing there?
