Hey everyone,
So this will be my ongoing WIP log to track my eastern front 20mm stuff. This is my first time working in 20mm, but I have done plenty in 15mm and 28mm before, and I'm beginning to see the draw to 20mm for platoon-company level engagements.
So far, I've managed to assemble a small force for both Russian and German armies using a combination of Plastic Soldier Company kits, Fantassin/Warmodelling metals, and some assorted 1/72 kits and diecast vehicles. I'm shooting for a variety of units to work within the soon-to-be-released Battlegroup Kursk rules, and figured I'd try and cover as many bases as possible before delving deeper into the army lists in the book.
With that in mind, I've managed to put together a solid collection thus far, including:
6 SdKfz 251/D's - PSC
2 PzIV H's - PSC
1 PzIV F1 - Panzerstahl diecast
1 PzIV F2 - PSC
2 Waffen SS grenadier squads - Fantassin
1 Waffen SS senior officer - Fantassin
1 Waffen SS static MG42 - Fantassin
2 Heer grenadier squads - Fantassin
1 Heer senior officer - Fantassin
1 Heer static MG42 - Fantassin
1 Heer/SS pioneer squad (depending how I decide to paint them, they could swing either way)
1 StuG III E - Trumpeter
2 SdKfz 222's - Dragon
1 KV-2 Beutepanzer - Panzerstahl diecast
1 box of Russian Summer Infantry - PSC (enough to do 3-4 squads, plus some LMGs)
1 T-34/76 '43 - Dragon (will use this as the command tank)
3 T-34/76 '43's from PSC (6 more still on their way)
2 BA-6 Armored Cars - Pegasus
2-3 squads of Rifle and SMG armed summer infantry - Fantassin
2 AT Rifle teams - Fantassin
1 Scout squad - Fantassin
1 senior officer - Fantassin
I'll be fleshing these armies out with some more support elements as I get to it, but for now it's a good start I think.
On the painting front, here's where things are heading:

Russians
More work will continue this weekend.
