    Meet Daisy the warhound...

I started collecting warhammer 40k in the dim and distant past of 1st edition rogue trader, when I was but a long haired and spotty faced teenager. After falling out of love with the hobby in my early 20's I have recently got back into it in my mid 30's. I wanted to recreate the DIY ethos that was associated with the hobby when I first started collecting (I remember scratch building a land raider prior to them releasing a model). So in light of this I decided to jump straight in head first and tackle quiet a challenging project. Armed with nothing more than 1.2mm mounting card and any supplies I could steal from around the house I made a start. I named my warhound titan Daisy (partly in response to the inspiration I got from looking at blackadders warhound titan named Lucie). I have based the design in part around the plans available on the internet and on the Lucius pattern forgeworld model.

Started work on the detailing. In hindsight I should have done this as I was building it.

Total cost so far - £3.50

I bet the legend that is blackadder gets sick of people asking for advice. My one regret is going down the card route and not the plastic card route, alas - Daisy teh warhound is my first scratch build in over 20 years lol

have you checked out his thread of the warhound he did? If you dont want to ask him you might find what your looking for in it. Daisy is looking good and for your first build in 20 years thats brilliant. I am going to bite the bullet and try some scratch building this year but I need to finish building my studio out back first.

Thanks for your advice alim92, checked out blackadders warhound page, stole a few of his ideas. Loving his level of detail under the chin and under the shoulders. Any suggestions what to make the 2nd weapon as?

Sorry for the lack of updates. Broke up from work now for 6 weeks so have more time to get daisy finsied. Plan for this week is to devise a removable system for the weapon arms and finsih the detailing.

I did however get the second leg pistons and shin armour completed this week.

    Re: Meet Daisy the warhound...

Just got up, fed my daughter and am now about to start the task of adding detail onto Daisy. Jobs for today

    1) Tidy up all 8 toes - the toes were the single hardest part of this build. All of the weight of the titan passes directly through these. I had real issues in construction with these as they kept on falling apart. I should have used plastic card but stuck with the 1.2mm mounting card that I had to hand.

    2) Add detailing to the underside of the shoulders - at the moment this area is functional (I uses a cut up whiteboard marker to make the weapon shoulder joint)

    3) Add edging around the shoulders.

    4) Add detailing under the chin of the titan.

    Wish me luck!
