    Thousand Sons Army

    Hey all,

Just wanted to post up the Thousand Sons I just painted. I have always wanted to do some Ushabti in a Tzeentch army, and I took that theme and expanded it to the rest of the army. I used quite a few Tomb Kings bits and kits to add flavor to the army, and some Dragonforge bases for a desert ruins feel.

    Enjoy and until next time!

Very nice painting. Love the shading and highlighting. I have to say I find the use of sand and the casket along with skulls very cool. Exceptional stuff. Do you have any guides/tutorials or the like?

That land raider is a glorious thing. I find the lack of Chaos bits on your vehicles somewhat surprising though.

I thought Chaos bits would clash with the Egyptian/Tomb Kings look. This army was more of an exercise in theme than sticking 100% to the fluff. Hence the choice of lots of newer Mark armor for the smooth lines and such.

Those are either twin Lightning Claw, or one Lightning Claw combi-melta termies. The optics are the counts as meltas.

Thanks for the kind words everyone!

I agree with your decision to avoid the chaos bits on your vehicles. I built and paintd a Thousand Sons army a few years ago, and I felt the same way. I thought they didn't fit with the Thousand Sons' theme. Too brutish.

Your army is gorgeous. Well done!

Wow. Just amazing. The sand-coated vehicles look like they have risen up from under the desert dunes.

Excellent theme, complimented by the outstanding paintjob.

I love them! Really well done - I so wish I had that skill! Are you going to put any runes/symbology on them at all?
