I love the theme. My only suggestion might be to leave off the daemonnette legs and model some whispy coiling smoke or something, to give the impression of ghostly sirens coalescing from invisible mists.

I also love the idea of infernal influence breaking through the loyalist paintjob, like tumors erupting through healthy flesh. Awesome.

Thanks! I just dont honestly have the modeling skills to do billowing smoke, otherwise I would have tried. Instead I opted to de-emphasize the legs by leaving them dark, kind of a shadowy manifestation. It works reasonably well as if you only "glance" at the figures you only see the tops of the deamonettes.

Whispyness would be cool but honestly I cant think of much else that would make this army look better, I'll defiantly be following you with interest, great concept and even better great execution, when i first started going through your log i was worried that the bases might end up looking to busy and cluttered but you've really managed to pull it off keep it up

So the current plan for conversions is the following (though may change on the release of the codex):

1 chaos space marine lord/sorcerer (ill save my idea on this until I do gotta leave some surprises)
10 Chaos Marines (the tempted -- current conversion work with ghostly deamonettes seducing Ultramarine battle brothers)
10 Chaos Marines (the fallen -- chaos space marine models, I am not yet sure how I will paint them, but they will have crackle paint over their main paint scheme which will be painted and highlighted blue , this will give them the appearance that the last remaining vestiges of their past is just falling off.)
10 Possessed Marines (the taken -- deamonnette body painted ghostly, ultramarine head painted blue, ultramarine pauldrons painted blue, and corset painted blue)
10 Deamonettes - Allies (songs from the warp -- painted half whisp like (bottom) and half with a yet to be determined paint scheme, but probably a twist on pale pink to give them the effect of stepping through the warp. I want a contrasting color to the ultramarines blue to highlight contrast between the supposed perfect human being and the deamon)
5 bikers / seakers - Allies if used as seakers ( dont have a name for this unit yet-- using the space marine bikes and maybe chaos space marine bikes with deamonettes riding as a second passenger)
The mask - (the many faces of pleasure --- Ill remove the two masks from her want and instead use a space marine head and either a deamonette head or chaos space marine head, I think that would tie her into the army ... also she will be painted half whisp like half like the deamonettes)

Suggestions welcome! It will probably be slow going as most of these things require multiple kits. Also does anyone have any good ideas for tanks / dreads / flyers / etc? My only thought is to use the crackle paint on the chaos models to have some ultramarines blue "pealing" off.

me likey too. But I think you should define all the marines as clearly loyalists that have been corrupted by siren songs... with a sorcerer who summoned the possessing demons.

That's a good idea, I am going to keep this one as is and try to bring out more of the mix between marine and deamon via the painting. So the deamon corset will not be ethereal, but instead blue and gold as per the ultramarines color. This might not be enough, but I want to see it painted to get the full effect and see how to do the next one.

Decided to write up some background for these guys ... here is the first part (includes quotes from Ovid's metamorphoses 1922 translation)

The space hulk Dominus Astares, home to the 10th Company of the Sons of Ultramar, was commissioned in the 31st Millennium on Holy Terra and assembled on the red forge world of Mars by 113th wing of the Adeptus Mechanicus in accordance to the will of Ominssiah. It mission was to investigate a kilo-pattern anomaly in the Havern system – Scarus Sector, first detected by deep space com relay Alpha463-999 five centuries prior on the outskirts of mapped imperial space – Medusa Sector.

His whims of decadence are ephemeral, his presence eternal.

Gravitational redshift of communication stream C876-4577 from the Dominus Astares, code name Moirai, resulted in total communication blackout for nine millennia. Moirai was received by gothic class cruiser Pride of Thalassa and forwarded on Gaia coded frequencies to Terra. Subsequently, astropaths of Adeptus Astra Telepathica determined that gravitational time dilation was caused by the third sun in the Brazzienne system – Medusa Sector going super nova in the 32nd Millennium and began decoding Moirai.

You need to remove all the mouldlines of a model as best you can, since it will ruin the paintjob if it got obvious mouldlines on it.. =(

I really like the ideas here, especially the thought of Daemons controlling Marines. I think for the Masque, you should try and take the Masks on her staff and replace the front part of a Space Marine and Chaos space marine with the masks.
