Things that may get overlooked in 6th Ed. Rules

Lots of discussion so far. Let's list some of the subtle things that players may overlook that could lead to disputes in game. Here are a couple that I've come up with so far:

    1. Melta Bombs (p.62) have the USR "Armourbane." Armourbane only applies in close combat. Therefore, Melta Bombs thrown in the shooting phase do NOT get 2d6 penetration against vehicles.

    2. Multiple units chosen as a single force org slot deploy independently (p.121).

You can't use melta-bombs in the shooting phase. They are the only grenade that wasn't given a ranged profile, only a melee one.

Noticable by its absence: nothing stopping you rallying within 6" of the enemy.

Ignoring difficult terrain movement penalties does NOT stop you striking at I1 if you cross difficult terrain in combat by the wording of the new assault rules.

Tank shock is still in and you CAN tank shock out of reserves...outflanking Baal Pred's are going to be nasty.

The night scythe is a transport....flyers cant disembark or embark units while zooming. A flyer always zooms, unless it's also a hover type. The night scythe doesn't have the hover type in the appendices in the back. So....a night scythe's transport option doesn't work now. But I see that the stormraven has the hover type. Nice........

Friendly models can stand beneath flyer bases.

Enemy models can't end a move within one inch of a flyer.

If the flyer is zooming it can't be assaulted.

The friendly model on the flyers base can it be assaulted?

When tau get their flyer, I shall deploy my fire warriors 6 inches away from the board edge, move them up 6, and when said flyer comes in on turn 2 or 3 it can shoot to a spot where my fire warriors can move onto the base thus becoming unassaultable for a turn.

    Winning.

Interesting little loophole but since flyers have to move 18 it will only help for a turn or so at most.

That is likely a mistake on the appendices part, rather than intentional. I'd expect them to get it in the Necron FAQ.

I saw this myself and was wondering how in the heck my scythes were supposed to work in 6th.

Also - Warscythe is not in the Weapons appendix in the back. Since it has special rules for ignoring armor saves and all that, I just thought it was odd that it wasn't in the appendix.

I wouldn't call that winning. That's the point where I would realize you're one of those dorks that just looks for new ways to abuse the rules and I pack up and walk.

Poison: wound on a fixed number unless you would have better.

IN ADDITION: reroll to wound rolls if strength greater than toughens, Nid MC's with 2+ rerolls to wound.

Ah, hey everyone. I've been looking for a new roleplaying game ever since my Lord Of The Rings-club booted me for using an actual warhammer, so would anyone mind if I pretended to be Chief of Medicine while Kelso is out of town?

Page 124, Reserves. You can place up to half your army in reserves, rounding up, and ignoring units that have to remain in reserve at the start of the game.

You still can't actually throw meltabombs, though.
