Picking a 2nd army: Main army is Skaven

What army should I start collecting next?!

I'm trying to choose between Lizardmen and Chaos Daemons. I have a few questions for you to help me decide.

    1) Which of these 2 would be more different in playstyle then Skaven?
    2) Which of these 2 armies has the most possibilities for variation in lists?
    3) Which of these 2 will be most likely to be updated within the next year? /Get new models within the next year
    4) Which of these 2 armies would you love to see more
a: Undead/Zombie Lizards (theme would be to model the army much like Lord Kroak which I would use as a Slaan)
b: Khorne/Nurgle Chaos Daemons with a mix of Bloodletters, Bloodcrushers, Fleshhounds, Flamers, Nurglings and (when finally released in plastic) Plaguebringers and some really nice conversions for the Heralds

Feel free to give me more arguements and ofcourse if you have any rumours that would be reasons for me to wait with my 2nd army they are more then welcome.

    Thx in advance

Deamons. Of course, since you're coming from a Skaven background you should be prepared to lose once in a while when playing one of the other armies.
The Germans are exceedingly fond of Rhine wines; they are put up in tall, slender bottles, and are considered a pleasant beverage. One tells them from vinegar by the label.

The losing part I don't care about. I have played my Skaven without a HellPit abomination for over a year on a 48 by 48 inch table with 5+ terrain features so I have lost my share of Skaven matches as well.

    1) Which of these 2 would be more different in playstyle then Skaven?

I think they're both pretty much the opposite of Skaven due to complete lack of war machines and sporting mostly small units of expensive elite models. The main difference is probably that Daemons are 'evil' while Lizardmen are 'good'.

    2) Which of these 2 armies has the most possibilities for variation in lists?

Daemons of course, just look at the model range and you'll find that Daemons have 2-3 times the number of unit choices, accounting for their 4 gods. With Lizardmen the only fundamental question you'll face is basically if you want to run a Slann or an Oldblood on Carnosaur.

    3) Which of these 2 will be most likely to be updated within the next year? /Get new models within the next year

That's impossible to say for sure, but my bet is neither.

For the absolute opposite to Skaven you should go for Bretonnia . Otherwise i think lizardmen are quite similar in play style so i would go for daemons

Q1) As Makrar pointed out Bretonnia is a good choice but so is Ogre Kingdom. Daemons will be more dissimilar to Skaven in playing style than Lizards as most have pointed out.

Q2) Neither - most competitive armies have very few variations

Q3) Neither. New models for Krox within a year - off the top of my head can't think of anything else.

Q4) If you choose Daemons, you need only Bloodletters, Herald and a Bloodthirster initially. Horrors and Flamers later.

Oh yeah, those Bretonnians with their cheap and expendable hordes of filthy, inbred Peasants who can't as much as lift a stick even if their life depended on it and their ragtag makeshift catapults - definitely what the OP is looking for!
