Re: 6th ed faqs are up.

Stormtalon is Flyer not Flyer (Hover) so in conjunction with special rules it either moves 12-24" a turn or sits perfectly still >_>

Heaps of Spec Chars nerfed by Power Axes.

FAQ randomly creates new unit type of "Jump Monstrous Creatures".

Catacomb Barge now even more horrendous.

Space Marine scouts now get +1 cover from camo cloak which can then stack with Stealth or Shrouded.

Chaplains all nerfed with Power Mauls.

However, Techpriests (and their equivalent) are now worth using and Tankbustaz are actually usable.

Does anyone know why the target lock has been removed from the tau armoury?

Yes, although it was somewhat expected considering what they did to power swords. On the other hand, now there's a reason to get a klaivex with demiklaive... and in the eldar FAQ there is still no idea what AP an executioner is.

Anyone else notice that a marine squad can be combat squadded but still ride the same transport? 2 individual units in one rhino? :S

On the bonesword issue, the codex is quite clear they ignore armour saves (doesnt say power weapb, just ignores armour saves) so seems prett clear to me.

As for CSM daemon Princes not being flying monsters- they get such cheap wings that it migh be a bit broken- but its notable that they played it wrongly in the WD battle report

    GW hate us.

I have a feeling it has something to do with the Splitfire USR but I don't see why they didn't just give us that instead.

Last night, BRB in hand, and in anticipation of the FAQ:

"ALL HAIL GW AND REJOICE! THE NEW EDITION HAS RESTORED HOPE TO ALL ARMIES!"

This morning after reading the FAQ.

"ALL HOPE IS LOST! ARM YOURSELVES WITH PITCHFORKS AND ATTACK GW THE GREAT BETRAYER!"

black templar neophyetes got str 4 shotguns! Thats a lot of str 4 shots coming out of a 20 man BT crusader now.

Also BT have to take another HQ now. The Emperors champ cant lead an army. Thats a bit of a nerf, as i need to spend points on a fairly pointless 2nd HQ.

If you had bothered to read the whole FAQ you would have seen the Ezekiel knows 3 powers. Level 2 mastery would've been good but oh well.

Oh I see you edited your post after you had gotten that far in the FAQ

Re: 6th edition FAQ on UK GW page.

Dark Eldar: Our already stretched anti-tank capabilities took a direct hit with the flyers. Due to the lack of skyfire on any normal units, we need to use flyers to take on flyers. Except, those flyers are in our HS slots, because putting our fastest units in a section other than Fast Attack is a completely logical choice. So anyway, if we want to deal with flyers, it means that our primary ranged AT also comes from flyers, which are subject to having limited turning circles and have to keep on the move at all time (no hover mode on the DE flyers). Oh, and if we wanted to take a flyer and use it for anti-infantry, the main feature of the DE flyers (missiles) was nerfed as you can now only fire two per turn.

DE specialist close combat weapons also took a hit, with all of them being AP3 under the new rules. Only the Demiklaives got a new entry which gives one of their modes AP2. For dealing with power armoured models this isn't an issue, but against terminators or any IC with a 2+ save, it is a big hit. It seems it is actually better for our characters to take a "power weapon" and model it as an axe rather than take the more expensive Agoniser. Against T4 you still wound on a 4+ (and against T3 you have a higher chance to wound), can punch through terminators, etc. You're nerfed against T5+, but that's what splinter weapons are for. Pretty much every DE weapon which ignored armour saves had additional rules and was counted as a "power weapon", so they're all down to AP3.

Haywire grenades got a huge buff though (which granted we all knew was coming) thanks to hull points, but then we get things like the Venom being granted a pathetic 2 HP. Ignoring night fighting will be great fun.

Still loads of unanswered questions, but all of the FAQs seem a bit ropey. Hopefully we'll see some expanded answers and balance tweaks included in there. Sods law that the moment I start to actually paint my DE army, a lot of it gets hit with the nerf bat.

I still like the 6th edition rules as a whole, but like always the codexes always manage to make the main rulebook look bad

Well... The Hive Tyrant has always technically been Mastery Level 1.

No. Either it hovers in place and doesn't move, or it rotates up to 90 degrees then moves 18-36 in a straight line, like all fliers in the move phase. It then can go an extra 12-24 flat out in a straight line if it wants.

Re: 6th edition FAQ on UK GW page.

well as i have said before, IF IT ISNT BROKE DONT FIX IT, right? judging by what i see here, my rather not very old 5th ed codex is more or less thrown out the window, again. as for the book itself, i cant afford to buy it as it is 75 dollars and thats a weeks spending money for me. so i have to go with what i hear.
this is what i hear so far for my nids,

i dont get my psychic powers, weapons and biomorphs are nerfed or categorized in some weird fashon, they brought back weapon types, such as axes, which are aparantly bad.(the old power weapon system wasnt broke) overall it appears to me that they made the game a thousand times harder than it needs to be. i am personally tired of the GW's personality of lets change it every 2-3 years. im tired of having to re-make my army every time i want to play. hell im still trying to de worm 3rd and 4th ed rules out of my head during games. this is just going to confuse the crap out of me.

for anyone wanting nids, expect to see 3 armies of nids on ebay in the next month. i am personally tired of the BS im going back to necromunda
(^_^) Necrons?? Im not impressed (^_^)

Well this sucks. Here I am stuck in the middle of the water on a deployed ship and I can't access the FAQ's for a couple more weeks because the GW site is restricted by our firewall. Anyone know how I can get a copy of the FAQ's for Tau, Eldar, Space Marines, and Chaos Marines without going through GW site??
