6, the number of the day :p

    40K Army: Chaos
Hi seers just putting a new list together for 6th ed and relised that everything is now T6, how cool is that!

    HQ:
Sorcerer, mark of nurgle, bike, familiar = 155

    Troops:
7 Plague marines, champion, power weapon, 2 plasma guns = 221
7 Plague marines, champion, power weapon, 2 plasma guns = 221

    Elites:
    5 Terminators, mark of nurgle, 5 champions = 240

    Fast attack:
    5 Bikes, mark of nurgle, 2 meltaguns = 235

    Heavy support:
    5 Havocs, mark of nurgle, 4 lascannons = 265
    2 Obliterators = 150

    total 1,487pts

how cool, I relise my HQ has no powers added yet however im not sure wether I have to "buy" them with the points from the codex or they are just "generated" from the BRB... if anyone has the answer let me know

however I think most people can se where this list is going, my marines are tougher than a DP, your bolt guns need 6's... and IG cant even scratch me... pitiful, I love it :P

    G'day

Yeah, capitalising on the current FnP and MoN bonus is going to be one of the big things for chaos this edition (at least with the current codex). All I can say is I like it! As for dealing with 2+ saves and extra help against tanks and walkers in close quarters I would add fists rather then PW to the plague marines.

And a quick note mate your plague marines are still only toughness 5, not 6.

As for the sorceror you can generate 1 random power from the rulebook for each power you have bought in the codex. (FAQ http://www.games-workshop.com/MEDIA_...Marine_6th.pdf)

    Hope this helps

yea, good point they dont get +1 for the bike lol... slight oversight... Im also thinking of dropping the havocs and the oblits and taking chaos daemons soul grinders for anti tank as they do it better with the tounge basically being a tau railgun and the nurf to armour this edition

ok an update to the list and it looks like this...

    HQ:
    Epidemius = 110
Sorcerer, mark of nurgle, bike, familiar = 155

    Elites:
5 terminator champions, mark of nurgle = 240

    Troops:
7 Plague marines, 2 plasma guns, champion, power weapon = 221
7 Plague marines, 2 plasma guns, champion, power weapon = 221

    Fast attack:
4 chaos bikes, mark of nurgle, 2 plasma guns = 212

    Heavy support:
    Soul grinder, tongue = 160
    Soul grinder, tongue = 160

im calling it the bubonic plague, i love these new rules thus far, they allow me to be even more diry than I usually am

If you go to the GW website and read the new FAQ's for the CSM codex, it clearly says that models with mark of nurgle and are mounted on a bike now count as true T6. Which means broadsides/S10 weapons wont cause instant death. But with the awesome buffs to flying monsterous creatures, why wouldnt you take Daemon Princes?

On a side note if you take allies, you must take 1 HQ and 1 troop from that army's codex. So your list isnt valid :P

Just noted that with the allies . Also the daemon prince is only counted as a 'jump' monsterous creature with wings not flying sadly

Edit: Ignore the above if you are meaning to take a daemons MC as an ally though, as then it is a flying MC with wings.

Where does it say they are 'jump'?

The Daemon FAQ says they are counted as 'Flying Monstrous Creatures' so I would Imagine that the CSM gain the same benefit

The Chaos Space Marine FAQ changes them to 'Jump' monstrous creatures rather than 'Flying' monstrous creatures in the daemons FAQ. From the discussion I've seen so far this difference (although I agree rather ridiculous difference) is mostly likely to offset the difference in cost between wings on a daemon prince in the CSM codex compared to the daemon codex.

Though with allies it doesn't stop you taking a daemon prince from the daemons codex to get a flying MC.

    Hope this helps.

That makes me a sad panda...

I guess nurgle bike sorcerers are in. I will have to wait and see for the new codex if they change the FAQ again. Hopefully they will become flying MC's because I dont see any reason why they shouldnt be.

Unless they've changed it, German CSM Daemon Princes are Flying Monstrous Creatures as per the German FAQ...

It's almost certainly a typo, as it makes no fricking sense and, as Finn pointed out, in other languages CSM DPs have remained Flying Monstrous Creatures. Currently though, going by RAW, they kinda suck compared.

Also note that with the allies rules, you only get 1 Elite/FA/HS slot each (in addition to min 1 HQ, and min 1 troops with a max of 2). So no dual soul grinders.
Epidemus + nurgle CSM is one of the more annoying/disgusting allies lists floating around at the moment. But even then, you do have to actually buy Epidemus and some Plague Bearers, both of whom are kinda meh (PBs used to be better, but now not so hot). So that's something of a 185pts, minimum, tax on the list. You could always take some useful options too (nurgle DPs and flamers both spring to mind).

It looks like the CSM are the allied forces. If he does it that way, it works fine.

The list I've been toying with for Epidemius (granted, is for 2k) is as follows:

    CSM:
DP w/MoN, Wings, Doombolt (take Telepathy, for Primaris Power)
DP w/MoN, Wings, Doombolt (take Telepathy, for Primaris Power)

    7 PMs w/2 melta
    7 PMs w/2 melta
    7 PMs w/2 melta
    7 PMs w/2 melta

    7 Havocs w/IoN, 4 ML, champion
    7 Havocs w/IoN, 4 Autos, champion
    7 Havocs w/IoN, 4 Autos, champion

    Allies:
    Epidemius
    15x Plaguebearers

Or you could read your rulebook... S3 AND S4 require 6's. S2 attacks cannot harm T6.
