Fair enough TBO.
What you're essentially talking about is hypothetical spells that quite litterally says: Force me through on IF and Win.
I would most certainly agree that this would not enhance the game one bit, quite on the contrary. Indeed, the prime reason why I've yet to play a Storm of Magic game is that the increased focus on magic found there has no appeal to me, I'm pretty much comfortable with where it's at in the 'normal' game and only carry pet peeves such as nominal casting values being used to dispel RiPs in subequent turns [as I mentioned upthread].
Where I do differ from what I take to be the general consensus here is that the top-spells that do exist are more or less described as I-Win-Buttons, and I just harbour sincere disbelief toward that idea [in general] and specifically with regard to bigger game-sizes [round-about 10k] I know for a fact that the impact of essentially Everything I see people harp about is just diminished to a Point where further 'nerfs' would just make *insert subject* meaningless.
And Dark Elves, being the strongest army ever [out of the ones I've sampled], is most certainly not going to keep that quaint ability to roll more than 6 Dice when/if updated to 8th. That one is a goner Before stuff like the Pendant and the cost of the Hydra is even brought under the looking glass. But such guesses are off topic by a slight margin I suppose.
