In the Shadow of Behemoth
The planet known to the Imperium as Vorax was a pleasant gamma-class planet. It had a population of twelve billion, spread relatively evenly over its surface. A temperate climate spanned the majority of its surface, providing ideal conditions for crops and grox herds. Thus the population were able to remain almost entirely self-sufficient, and were even able to export a fair quantity of their produce off-planet.
Vorax's most interesting feature was that it had a relatively high gravity, at 1.3 Terran standard. This led to their PDF being comprised of a high percentage of retired Keldorian veterans, who found the gravity ‘quaint’. They often bored Voraxians with tales of the 1.8tsg back home.
In many ways it was a sleepy place, blessed to live mostly undisturbed by the various xenos and heretics that plagued the galaxy. Of course, in the 41st millennium, nowhere can go untouched by war forever…
