    Exploiting the new rules?

Already im growing a bit tired of seeing people trying to exploit as much as they can in the new rules. I have hardly seen anything relating to cool background/fluffy stuff or how tactics might be used, just all the little rules that people seem to be trying to abuse to get one up on their opponents. I would realy just like to play some games....

Hopefully im not the only one who feels this way.

Examples? because one person's "exploiting" is another person's "using"

How are people on the internet stopping you from playing some games anyway?

The whole allies thing irritates me very much and I have around 10.000 pts divided into four armies (DE,CwE,CSM, IG) so I can both use and abuse the alliessystem. But that just throws any balance there might out of the window.

I never said they were. I dont have the book yet, though my friend has it. Ive managed to have a good look through it. And Charax you know what I mean, stop being so pedantic. There seems to be a lot of 'how overpowered can i make my army' from using different combos, twists of the rules etc.

I dont see anything with posts from people saying how cool campaigns will be, sweet battlefields theyre going to set up/make, etc. It all seems to be list building and rules nuances and very little 'hobby/background' orientated stuff if you see what I mean.

No one is talking about tactics because you need to play games to test those tactics.

The edition is new and going through the phases anything that is new does.
First its gimmicks. Trying to find something awesome that your enemy doesnt expect and winning because of it.
Once gimmicks are found people learn to counter them and tactics become the deciding factor.

    Do Not Panic.
Ofc people try to break new rules...

If you wanne talk about background and fluff maybe go to the background forum which is ment for that very thing?

    @Inquisitor Kallus:

You could always try being tolerant of other people's opinions. Just because you don't see the fun in trying to find ways to use the rules to your advantage, doesn't mean that other people should stop doing so.

It's an information arms race, basically. Whoever finds the broken combo first is going to have more time and energy available to "hobby" because they'll have their WAAC army standing by to lean on when they want to play for real / punish the obnoxious loudmouth.
100 Gaunts on the field to shoot down, 100 Gaunts on the field, you shoot just one, then reload your gun, 99 Gaunts still alive to shoot down
92% of people are very gullible and do whatever they read in someone's signature. If you are part of the 8% who don't, copy and paste this into your signature.

@Nixon. I am very tolerant of other peoples opinions. Tell me how by my post that you presumed that I am not? I did not say that people should stop doing so. If you think I did I would like you to point out where. I just said I was a bit tired of it.

@Gorsameth: I do look in the other threads. this is 40k general, and it is a general subject question, neither purely about rules or background.

Just to make people feel better...

I am very excited about flyers in 6th ed. So much so that I am creating Ork airfield terrain. Starting with a rough field air traffic control tower, then will make some orky hangers and fuel dumps, complete with an Ork AA Flakk gun for defense.
    Bowling for beakies...

Orksum! See this is the kind of awesome thing people could be doing.

    Re: Exploiting the new rules?

I think the majority of the people aren't looking for cheap ways to win battles themselves, but badly worded rules that are quickly in dire need of an FAQ is just one of those realities for any GW hobby
