Lovely stuff so far.
Congratulations on winning gold with Horus. He is a lovely conversion along with the Masters of the Chapter. Will you be doing the other mournival members?
Looking forward to seeing what else you are adding.
Cheers!
thanks so far guys!
I've been cracking my skull in trying to come up with a (kind of) decent list, but I think it will take some more time
I'll probably also be adding a guard detachment, either as mechanicum or Byzant Janizars... (both awesome). Mechanicum with Regulus,
or the Janizars with vostroyan models.. hmm options.. options.. I'll just stick to the marines for now. Maybe some updates tomorrow guys!
As for the Mournival: I'd love to make some of the other members, but I have a tendancy to make only the awesome stuff and then stop working
as soon as only the regular boys are left. For game purposes one ore two members are more than enough as well. So maybe, but I'll focus on my
other stuff first
ok people,
I've tried something completely different, and it I like it much much more than my previous sons..
what do you people think?

It's crazy cool, gotta say that is one of the best executed true scale marines I've seen!

Awesome work so far. Love it that you use the Tigris Pattern Boltgun(I love them, i´ve got 80 Tigris lying at home=))
I'm not really a fan to be honoust....i find your work on the normal marines sized models way more impressive and the difference in hight with Horus and terminators is nicer then... (im generally no fan of truescale projects though) Just my 2 cents though
Hmm, this means you gonna be redoing your marines!![]()

Probably
I'm really pleased with the result, but I do need to order a bucketload of the FW termies
Guess you could always try to make copies for personal use. Otherwise you could also try to make a bunch based on the normal Terminators to represent the different armour Marks.
Or just include lots of Imperial Army and Mechanicum support in there!

Ordering a lot of FW is not really a problem, but it takes time. I still have to check out what my army list will be,
but there will be a detachment, probably guard. I've been converting a Techpriest last week, but pictures will follow
next week, since I'm not at home for the weekend.
thanks for the comments by the way, it keeps me motivated!
@breazer: Horus is still a lot taller than the regular boys, so that won't be a problem. Is it the size you don't like, or the new colourscheme?
Wow these are looking amazing!
- Commander Tony
airbrushed in the following stages:
- Moot Green
- 50/50 Moot Green - Administratum Grey
- add a little white to the mix in several stages
- highlights with brush using the mix plus a little more white
The new citadel paints work a lot better with the airbrush in my opinion, though I have only tried layer paints, base paints may be more difficult/annoying.
I thin them with Tamiya acrylic thinner in a mix of 50/50 paint and thinner (more or less, I keep adjusting while I go)
hey there, ritterkreuz. while i like that truescale fella a lot and think it's all kinds of pretty, i kinda prefer your standard sons of horus. on one hand, you already got a sweet looking force going there so why give it up, on the other hand...going true scale will force you to upscale everything else, too. dreads, tanks and all that, as well as your force looking out of place when fighting other standard armies.
i know that truescale marines can look awesome and great and all that, but if you truescale because you are into the visual aspect of the game and hobby, keep in mind that the overall visual spectacle might suffer when fighting other armies...like minis from a different game on the battlefield of a 40k game...
just wanted to say that because i found myself toying with the idea of truescaling my ultras. no way am i converting all the vehicles for an army, though.![]()

Dreads could stay the same. Instead of normal Land Raider models, you could use the Spartan model. Dreadnought could stay the same though, especially the Contemptor.
Do note that normal rhinos don't make that much sense either, did you try cramming 10 marines in there?

I'm at work now, but this afternoon I'll try another two or three and then decide. I want to check out some of the other armor types as well and I think I'll use the regular space marine arms with green stuff rather than the FW terminator arms.
I'm usually not a fan of terminator legs for true-scale marines, but I've got to say that that looks pretty awesome! Love the new "more correct" green as well!![]()
Not sure whether I prefer this green, or the green in your regular scale marines. They're both pretty good schemes.
As to three grit scale... seems a shame to scrap all the work done on the regular scale marines, as there are some interesting conversions there. Still, ill be watching whatever ya end up doing.
