Isnt snapfire just a shot at bs 1? Shouldnt be any reason why they wouldnt rend

Indeed. Useful when Wolf scout snipers get charged, specially if they overwatch at their full BS 4.

Off topic: Why do certain codex's attract more easter egg hunters than others?
If the OP is using snipers and came with the question I think what he actually saw is that snapshots can't use "precision shot". The rending still takes place.
Rending is done on a roll to wound. Just as it was last edition. Why would hitting on 6's modify this?
