    Eldar Corsairs are battle brothers with DE.

    Because I think my reading comprehension is bad. It mentioned that they consider Eldar armies to be battle brothers but gave no mention to Dark Eldar, so I thought they were excluded. I see now that clause was included so that a Corsair army - which counts as Eldar - can ally with itself, contradicting the BADAB. So now I grok it.

    Well, that's debatable. They are essentially saying "Corsairs have their own entry in the rulebook ally matrix, it just happens to match the Eldar entry. In addition, they are battle brothers with Eldar (Since Corsairs are not in the rulebook ally matrix)"

    That's not what I mean. The answer from the e-mail basically says that Corsairs and DE aren't Battle Brothers. But according to their own PDF they are.

    I think the reason they aren't battle brothers is it would be too easy to pick and choose between 3 codexes, instead of 2. You already can take some dark eldar units in the Corsair list itself. Honestly I don't think Corsairs should even be able to ally with Eldar. The Corsair list give Eldar units a BS increase as well as access to Dark Eldar and new speciality troops. In exchange for those benefits you loose access to some traditional Eldar units and farseer powers. Now, you can take Corsairs as your main army with its access to some dark eldar units, get the traditional farseer and an additional traditional unit for codex Eldar.

    As a an Eldar player (who happens to own 3 Wasps, a Voidraven Phoenix, and so far one converted Eldar-carried Missile Launcher) I like this matrix very well.

    On a less personal note, the C:E book already contains one Corsair special character in it (Yriel), and likewise the 2nd edition book allowed for Pirates, so this is really just bringing things back to how they always were.

    They are battle brothers. FW misspoke in the e-mail. The PDF is correct.

    Really pleased with Bel Annath's buff.
    He was interesting re: opening up the overcrowded heavy slots, but lack of doom & guide plus block on taking any other farseer kinda hurt our psychic USP. But now he's got the heavy slot bonus, new power access AND pyromancy!

    He is a big win over standard farseer, imho.

    Nice to see they've fixed the clash between supersonic and Hover mode, along with a few other little things on the Vehicle update.

    Nurgle Decimators are now even nicer (In fact, all the Decimators are nicer now, apart from a curious mention of a heavy conversion beamer not being able to move 72")

    It looks like Corsairs didn't change.

    Did they just make Eldar flyers worse, though? I thought they previously had Stealth and Shrouded; now it is just Shrouded.

    They gained a 5++ in addition to shrouded, so I'd call that a plus

    Ooo decimators. Bit costly, fill a slot i would prefer to use on terminators but yummy rules.

    Think i might get a second and arm it with just the siege claws. 2d6 heavy flamer hits for embarked troops but only 2 attacks at s10 with reroll to pen. Should hurt a landraider a wee bit though!

    I play death guard so i think i lucked out
