    Bargames your party can play

I'll be running The Enemy Within campaign soon under the Warhammer Roleplay second edition ruleset.
I'm taking my group all the way from Mistaken Identity to Power Behind the Throne (and possibly Empire in Chaos).
Since my party will be spending lots of evenings in tavers and inns I'm looking for some intersting games they can play/bet on.
Most suggestions I found say to just roll a D100 and the highest wins, but I find that a tad boring.

I was thinking along the line of a dice version of Blackjack.
Everybody rolls a D20 in secret and a D6 is rolled open on the table. Players can then place bets and the closest to 21 wins.
In case of a tie, the money is split.

Of course this is just an example. Feel free to add your own suggestions.

I’d recommend checking out the dice poker mechanics from The Witcher RPG.

How about just introducing a deck of cards? Warhammer them up a little of you want..."Hey, guys! I've got the Elector of Axes!"

What about the "Liars Dice" game, made popular in PotC 2 ? Its a great little game, that is loads of fun and can be monetised in many ways. (You could use different types of dice too?)

One thing my old DM mentor would do is get players to roll bluff checks against each other in order to decide who won various hands of cards.

Then there was the darts/knife throwing tourneys, using your ranged attack score. Billiards using melee attack rolls etc. Kind of like mini battles

Ahh. ..knifey wally. On second thought, don't ask.

I would suggest the d&d card game 3 dragon ante, as its fairly in character for warhammer and quite complicated. Chess, backgammon and equivalents where all played in pubs for hundreds of years and would fit in well in warhammer fantasy.

That game is still on my to-do pile unfortunately, but thanks for the tip.

Cards could be an option, but then I'd still have to find a game that fast, easy to learn and easy to cheat on

I've played Perudo a couple of times in the past and IIRC this game can take up quite some time.
Might focus the RPG session a bit too much on a mini-game
It's an interesting idea though... I'll see if I can find a short version somewhere.

That's a very intersting thought actually. I have to think on it a bit but there's definately something I can work with here

While interesting, that game seems quite complicated for a bar game that's only going to be played for one or two rounds.
What I'm looking for is a game that's fast, easy to learn and not a simple D100 + Gamble skill.

Re: Bargames your party can play

There's a d20 gambling game from Pathfinder which is good. Every player can buy d20's for a coin each. The GM gets 1 dice. Everyone rolls their dice and every result that is higher than the GM's result wins 2 coins. Statistically it works out they lose money on average.

    A good game is 'cheat'.
All it requires is two D6, a player rolls the dice in secret and sates his 'score'. The score is the highest number first (so 5 and a 3 would be fifty three etc) the next player must roll higher or lie so his score is higher. The next player then rolls and states his score (or lies) any player can call cheat but only on the previous player, if you call cheat and are right you win a point if you call cheat and its true then you lose a point. Extra rules can be added for doubles etc.
