Upcoming Krieg Division (with Gorgon SHT)
Hello and first of all thanks for reading,
I hope its somewhat placed in the right place, but its been a long time since I've been in the hobby. I ordered the following in the last 3 weeks:
- 1 Squad of advancing Krieg Death Korps,
- 5 Death Riders,
- 2 Command squads, (1 HQ)
- 3 Heavy Weapon teams, (2 lascannon, and a heavy machine gun).
- 1 Grenadier Centaur
- 1 Gorgon super uber heavy and big-ass transport.
- 5 gorgon unit squads (which I intend to cut apart to get like 40+ (hopefully) chilling soldiers).
I don't actually play the game (but i wish i could), i like the models, i like to convert, sculp etc, and eventually paint them for a diorama or at least a nice scenery.
I want to convert the gorgon to look more like a heavy battalion that could house the main core of a well experienced entrenching division (by closing the roof partways, and having people based on top of it). I searched the net for any existing topics or posts about a converted gorgon, however i couldn't find much, except several scratch-build super heavies see here: http://z11.invisionfree.com/Work_In_.../ar/t17509.htm and http://z11.invisionfree.com/Work_In_.../ar/t11123.htm
Anybody have any ideas or perhaps experience doing something with a gorgon? Eventually once i have a small squad that's ready for painting I'll post some pictures of the force, colors of my first test soldier are Green, Graveyard Earth and Liche Purple (for the inside of the coats). Any comments or replies will be highly welcomed!

That's one nice tank you've got there, I'd love to see more wip photos as the project proceeds. Please do keep us updated.

Sorry, just to specify, those 2 links i put in the first post are not my own work. I was searching the internet for anything similar for inspiration.
I would like to see any similar work perhaps people on this forum have worked on!

The gorgon Infantry squads is a good way to save money. But what you save in cash you will pay in blood
(seriously some are hard to cut apart, some you can simply snap of and they are good to go,but in the end its totally worth it) I would recommend that you buy the special weapon kit for some spare arms, and for the obvious reason, some extra firepower.
I got some pictures of some painted gorgon infantrysquad in my krieg log if you want to see how they look finished.
Looking forwards for some pictures!

Thanks for your reply!
I read several 'blogs' of people who tried the same with gorgon squads (see below, good one with photo's), and although some were easy some were hard
Its OK if i can't use them all, since i still get a gorgon I'll use the men to brighten it up.

And also since i restarted putting some soldiers together my fingers have been paying again, within no time I'll have a trusty layer of shields on my thumbs!

Sorry for a lousy picture, but i can't seem to get a decent shot (without a nice photo box). For now just foot soldiers, few death riders and a Centaur!
- As soon as i get a good shot, I'll post some conversions (such as the soldier to standard bearer partly painted (test mini)).

So i have progressed a bit. I got 2 other mini's partly base-coated and a giant order of bases ready in the making.
